General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the Banking study programme is to train highly qualified professional bachelors in Business
Management who are able to plan, organise, execute and control the processes of a socially responsible
bank and other financial institutions, manage the products and services of banks and other financial
institutions, and serve customers.
Learning outcomes:
• Knowledge of the theories that allow understanding and evaluating external and internal factors of the business environment.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply methods of financial performance analysis.
• Ability to conduct empirical research using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Ability to collect, organise and process statistical, economic and financial data using information technology.
• Ability to apply the legislation and other regulatory documents governing the activities of banks and other financial institutions correctly.
• Ability to manage classic products and services of banks and other financial institutions.
• Ability to manage innovative electronic and mobile banking services using modern financial technology (fintech).
• Ability to advise and submit proposals for clients of banks and other financial institutions on credit, savings, investment and risk management issues.
• Ability to assess the financial condition and performance of banks and other financial institutions and apply internal control principles.
• Ability to monitor the execution of financial decisions.
• Ability to communicate in Lithuanian and foreign languages, and to integrate in a multicultural environment
• Ability to integrate into the organisation and to deal with professional challenges in an ethical, professional and socially responsible manner.
• Ability to develop professional competence independently in the light of changes in the external environment.
• Ability to plan and organise own time independently, take responsibility for their own activities and the potential impact of their results.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Focused on the development of general and special competencies as well as the development of creativity: lectures, seminars, discussions, individual and group project work, practical seminars, case analysis, public presentation and defense of works, discussions, concept mapping, preparation of scientific articles, information search and systematization, etc.
