General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: To prepare professionals with broad erudition in the field of Human-Animal Interaction, knowledgeable about the importance of integrating animals used for human rehabilitation, service, sports, recreational activities, aesthetic and communication needs to ensure societal well-being, understanding national and international legal acts regulating this field, the species of animals used for these activities and their peculiarities, animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, physiological needs; conditions necessary to ensure animal welfare and health.
Learning outcomes: To prepare specialists in the field of Human-Animal Interaction: - knowledgeable about the importance of integrating therapeutic and recreational activities involving assisting animals to ensure societal well-being; - knowing and able to apply national and international legal acts regulating the field of Human-Animal Interaction; - understanding the species of animals used

for Human-Animal Interaction activities (human rehabilitation, service, sports, recreational activities, aesthetic and communication needs), their peculiarities, animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, physiological needs; conditions necessary to ensure animal welfare and health.

Specializations: Cynology: Rearing and reproduction of dogs; Dog nutrition; Dog assistance and recreational activities. Horse Rearing: Rearing and reproduction of horses; Equine nutrition; Horse assistance and recreational activities. Felinology: Rearing and reproduction of cats; Cat nutrition; Cat assistance and recreational activities. Exotic and wild animals: Rearing and reproduction of exotic and wild animals; Nutrition of exotic and wild animals; Assistance and recreational activities of exotic and wild animals. relevance for this sector: Media and health; Personal health education; Experimental animal models; Biodiversity of the World; Animal genetic resources; Horse breeding technologies; Invasive species; Snail Growing; Physical Education; Beekeeping, Bee Products and Apitherapy; Basic laboratory animal models, instructions and protocols; Nutrition of wild captive animals, etc. Distinctive features of a study programme: This is the only program in Lithuania specialized in preparing professionals with broad erudition in the field of Human-Animal Interaction, knowledgeable about the importance of integrating therapeutic and recreational activities involving assisting animals to ensure societal well-being, understanding national and international legal acts regulating this field, the species of animals used for these activities and their peculiarities, animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, physiological needs; conditions necessary to ensure animal welfare and health. Access to professional activity or further study: Access to professional activity: In the ministries of the Republic of Lithuania (Agriculture, Environment, Health Protection, etc.) and their departments; in consulting services; in the State Border Guard Service; in police departments where animal assistance is utilized; in breeding centers; in zoos; in animal shelters; in horse stables, to start one's own business, to consult, etc. In the future, it is planned that individuals who have completed the Human-Animal Interaction study program will be able to pursue a license for providing services in the field of complementary and alternative health care, natural and folk medicine, specifically in the group of psychosocial impact services involving animals. Access to further study: To continue studies in the master's program of Human-Animal Interaction.
