General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare competitive, highly-qualified transport engineering specialists being able to work individually and apply the latest technological knowledge in the field of automobile transport engineering, able to make technical decisions independently, work successfully under competitive market conditions and develop professionally.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
Will know necessary general physical and chemical processes and phenomena of natural sciences that explain happenings of natural and technological environment, also general regularities and laws of mathematics in order to understand the fundamental basics of Transport engineering study field. Will get acquainted with the most important concepts of Transport engineering study field, will be able to understand their content. Will have the key knowledge about construction of the automobiles, their operational and maintenance principles, structural and exploitation materials. Will know the context of problems and their solutions of adjacent study fields. Will be able to apply professional knowledge to tackle the problems of Transport engineering study fields creatively applying familiar methods. Will analyse engineering tasks and choose the right methods, experimental, laboratory and manufacturing facilities to tackle them. Will be able to apply analytical and modelling methods for solution of qualitative and quantitative engineering problems in transport engineering study field. Will apply engineering knowledge for organizing and controlling technological processes of internal combustion engines, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of automobiles according to intended requirements.
Competences to carry out research:
Will be able to find proper professional information using information technologies, data bases, software and other scientific and engineering information resources. Will carry out necessary tests for transport engineers for solving problems, practical and laboratory works, process their results and present practical conclusions of these results. Will have skills to operate technological equipment, used in transport engineering study field.
Special skills:
Will be able to select engineering solutions, as well as means and technological equipment needed to design, organise, carry out and control technological process of diagnostics and maintenance of car engines, of their control systems, of their management and regulation. Will be able to combine theoretical and applied knowledge for solving engineering problems of safe maintenance of automobiles. Will understand ethical, environment protection, economic and commercial situation of engineering activities. Will know the organizational principles of engineering activities, will know the main work and fire protection requirements. Will understand various designing methodologies and will be able to apply it in designing of technological processes.
Social skills:
Will be able to solve engineering challenges individually and in a multiprofile group (team).
Will be able to communicate in correct Lithuanian language and at least one foreign language with the engineering community and the general public.
Personal skills:
Will comprehend the importance of the impact of engineering decisions on society and environment, will obey the norms of professional ethics and engineering activities, understand responsibility for the results of engineering activities. Will be aware of the main aspects of project implementation and management on the level of engineering activities that will be revealed through organisational skills, ability to plan and implement the most productive and efficient work methods. Will comprehend the importance of individual lifelong learning and will prepare for it.
Teaching and learning activities:
Lectures, consultations, practical tasks and course papers, individual work, practices of professional activities. Students accomplish practical tasks individually or in groups.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The student ‘s knowledge, skills and abilities acquired while studying subjects of a study programme are assessed after completing of individual assignments performed during the semester and exam session. The achieved learning outcomes after completion of subject studies are assessed attributing them to the levels of achievement: excellent, typical and threshold.

Studies are completed by defending the Final work individually prepared by a student.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
The quality of studies is assured by cooperation with business enterprises. TOYOTA Technical Training Centre was established in college cooperation with international company Toyota Baltic AS. The company equips laboratories with new facilities, provides opportunity to use teaching material, lecturers and students update their professional qualification in training courses and seminars, organised by the company. The best students are awarded with personal scholarship of the company. Students are able to participate in projects of experimental development: Design and manufacture of aerodynamic tube, design and manufacture of sideslip tricycle, an electric Go-Kart design and production, and others. The first „Student formula “in Lithuania has been manufactured and students successfully participated in the international competitions while participating in experimental development project. Students actively participate in international exchange programme “Erasmus+”: go to study or for professional activities internships to the other countries of European Union.
Access to professional activity or further study:
The automobile technical maintenance specialist can work in various transport means repair, trading and components production organizations, in the enterprises engaged in equipment maintenance and as well as in technical inspection enterprises and insurance companies.
Graduate can continue his/her studies having chosen university study programmes in the field of Transport Engineering.
