General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare the students to become qualified business experts who are able to establish and develop international business enterprises, to manage business operations and projects, applying principles of sustainable development for increasing business competitiveness in dynamic environment of national and global markets.
Learning outcomes:
After graduating from the International Business study programme, a graduate will be able:
1. To apply main theories of economics, management, marketing and other social sciences in the development of a business in international environment.
2. To analyze and evaluate the international business environment and trends of business development for making decisions to increase the competitiveness of international business company.
3. To manage the business operations of an international business (conventional or on-line) or its division based on the sustainable business principles.
4. To create and develop an international business, ensuring responsible staffing by applying effective management and leadership principles.
5. To manage import/export operations of an international business by applying decisions of international marketing and logistics in a creative manner.
6. To create and manage business projects, plan tangible and financial resources for the efficient activities of an international business or its division.
7. To communicate and cooperate in a constructive and ethical way inside the company, with clients and business partners in the multicultural environment.
8. To creatively use contemporary means and sources of information to organize international business operations.
9. To assess personal achievements, responsibly plan the professional career direction, applying knowledge, skills and personal traits for continuous learning.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Problem-based teaching, practical situations and case studies, real problem solving in project activities, project work, concept and mind mapping, managerial processes‘ simulation, task solution, discussions and debates, teaching in cooperation, practices in the workplace, demonstration and analysis of practical examples, creation of insights and development scenarios, professional practice, thesis.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment and a ten-scale assessment system are applied. The achievement level of the study outcomes is being assessed during the whole study process. In subject and module programmes, concrete evaluation structural elements are foreseen, their weight in final evaluation, the content of concrete evaluation tasks, criteria and requirements. When applying cumulative assessment the learning outcomes are evaluated by interim assignments. Studies of each subject end with an examination. Achieved results of study programme students demonstrate while defending thesis.

Globalization and Global Market, Economics, Management, International Business, Intercultural Communication, Economics for Business Enterprise, Marketing and Marketing Research, Quantitative Methods for Business, Business Finance and Accounting, Operations Management and Logistics, Research Methodology in Social Sciences, International Business Law, Human Resource management, Sustainable Business Development, Business Information Systems, International Marketing, Import & Export Management, International Trade Financing and Payments, Quality Management, International Business Strategies, International Business Projects Management and other.
The General Course Units (18 ECTS): Business English, Advanced Information Technologies, Personality and Communication Psychology, Sociology, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, Personal Management and Career. Course Units of Deepening Knowledge in Study Field (15 ECTS): Doing Business in Europe, Doing Business in Emerging Markets,Purchasing &Supply Chain Management, International Business Networks, E-Business, Digital Marketing.
Two professional activity internships are performed (training and final internships), volume – 33 ECTS.
Final Thesis – 9 ECTS.

Optional courses:
Students may choose from Study Field, General Course units, Study Field Knowledge Deepening and Elective Course Units. Students can accumulate 32 ECTS from these choices. 6 Course Units are foreseen for Study Field Knowledge Deepening Course Units group, from them students can accumulate 15 ECTS. These are: Doing Business in Europe or Doing Business in Emerging Markets, Purchasing& Supply Chain Management or International Business Networks, E-Business or Digital Marketing.
Students may choose 8 ECTS from General Course units: Personality and Communication Psychology, Sociology, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, Personal Management and Career. Other Elective Courses are appointed to interdisciplinary studies or educating general competencies from the list of Elective courses. Their volume is 9 ECTS.

Having acquired the degree of the Professional Bachelor in International Business, the graduates are ready to build their career in companies that are involved in retail/wholesale, import/export, they can work as project managers in large and medium-size international companies, work as project managers, functional heads and specialists in smaller international businesses or open international companies in the industry of their choice.
Access to further study:
After graduating from International Business study programme students can continue studies in Lithuanian and foreign higher schools implementing II cycle study programmes. Graduates can also study in accordance with the non-degree study programmes.
