Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare highly qualified engineering professionals who understand and apply the newest principles of electricity, electronics, temporary constructions, and communication in organization and implementation of live events, and are able to solve technical support and health and safety problems of any live event.
Learning outcomes:
Event Engineering graduates will be able to
- to evaluate and organize an event spaces, solve issues of scenes, stage visualization, events technical maintenance.
- to analyze the need for technical maintenance of events taking into account the technological specifications of electrical, electronic and temporary buildings.
- to address the issues of technical supply and organization of events.
- to provide clear and logical answers to specific construction engineering issues, analyze traditional and innovative technologies and their applications.
- to perform stage design works and ensure the safety of events;
- to apply knowledge of scene constructions, their operation, lighting, sound systems and media in organizing various events;
- work in a creative team, take decisions in an active and responsible way.
- understand how people behave at events and how to organize masses and manage creative teams;
- apply art, music and stage action knowledge in organizing events;
The graduates of the Event Engineering Program will be acquainted with the mechanics of engineering, the strength of structural elements, rigidity and stability, mechanical materials research, human and environmental safety, electrical engineering and electronics, construction structures and mechanisms, their management and application in event engineering.
Activities of teaching and learning:
The following study methods are used: problematic teaching, case studies, problem-based tasks, interactive (computerized) tasks, discussions, presentation of scientific problems, writing papers, project preparation, individual and group work, concepts maps, discussions, expert method.
Individual counseling is provided for each subject, one of the goals of which is to better adapt to the individual needs of the student.
Practical skills will be consolidated by coursework and complex projects, practice in enterprises. Practice provides an opportunity to study the creative business and communication problems on the basis of which students prepare their final work.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The following evaluation methods are used: verbal assessment methods (individual, frontal survey), written test methods (written interview, test, control works, etc.), practical test methods (examinations, reports, etc.) are used to verify that the students have achieved the expected results. Various evaluation methods are used to assess problem-solving problems: group and individual presentation presentation, essay analysis, analysis of study achievement folders, interview, analysis of reports, semi-open or full-time testing, etc. "
Students' knowledge, abilities and qualifications of a BA undergraduate study program are assessed using a ten-point cumulative assessment system.
The results of the study program and the subjects during the semester are evaluated during the interim payments (written reports, supervised works, presentations, creative projects, laboratory works are described and interpreted). The final grade consists of intermediate grades and exam grades.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
-
Access to professional activity or further study:
Access to professional activity:
study program develops the following competencies: engineering solutions for stage systems and constructions, illumination, sound engineering, pyrotechnic and laser effect engineering solutions, 3D Mapping projection technologies, event maintenance and safety. Upon completion of the program, the acquisition of skills and competencies in the field of events engineering permit employment in specialized companies which provide technical solutions for event spaces (notably, stages), event organizing agencies, theaters and cinemas, business, conference and convention centers, exhibition halls, radio and television. Almost always, event engineers, unlike entertainment industries professionals, work behind the publicly viewed stage, event, or showroom. By managing the appropriate technology and equipment, event engineers ensure that the various events, including entertainment events, are technically successful, orderly and safe.
Access to further study:
Master studies in the field of technologies and Electronic Engineering.
