Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Prepare highly skilled professional bachelor of Information Systems Technologies, who can create and support high information systems level in organizations; exploitation and control and their systems technical and software devices, which match region, state and foreign market demand; graduates will be able to compete in a constantly changing labor market; graduates will be able to improve and change working conditions in a globalized.
Learning outcomes:
After completion of the study programme, a graduate:
1. Will know basic fields of natural science and mathematical regularities and laws, will recognise and evaluate the materials used in engineering as well as their characteristics;
2. Will understand the variety of computer devices and their application possibilities;
3. Will select and install the equipment of computers and their systems;
4. Will install and maintain information systems;
5. Will understand the principles and methods of software design;
6. Will apply the laws and other legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania that regulate the activity of an organisation, environment and work safety;
7. Will understand and apply the laws protecting information and intellectual property;
8. Will be able to find necessary professional information by using databases and other scientific and engineering information resources;
9. Will assess engineering solutions in ethical, social, legal, economical and safety terms when selecting constituent parts and structure of information systems;
10. Will assess the information technologies of an organisation, will be able to apply the outcomes of experiments to provide with suggestions for system modernization;
11. Will analyse information and its significance in decision making, will provide practical conclusions of the outcomes;
12. Will evaluate and manage the informational resources of an organisation by applying engineering and data analysis methods;
13. Will identify and eliminate breakdown of computers and their systems;
14. Will select, install and maintain necessary application software;
15. Will organize the security of the resources and will carry out restoration actions;
16. Will carry out the actions of projecting, mounting and operating of the computer or information network equipment by applying engineering knowledge and with reference to the defined requirements;
17. Will identify and eliminate the breakdown of a computer network hardware and software;
18. Will integrate organisation's computer network into other computer networks and will be able to manage them;
19. Will project and design information systems and the software that meets the needs of an organisation by creatively applying the methods of analysis, projecting and modelling in informatics engineering field;
20. In a specific working site will explain to the users the possibilities that software offers;
21. Will apply professional knowledge and practical skills to solve specific and economic activity-related issues, to formulate arguments for solution;
22. Will be able to solve engineering tasks when working in a team;
23. Will identify and analyse the problems of the provision of information services within an organization and will plan their solution with reference to the impact to the public and the environment, and following the norms of professional ethics and engineering activity;
24. Will modernize the economy of an organisation's information technology;
25. Will be able to find, store, systematize and analyse the most relevant information necessary for engineering activity, will understand the importance of lifelong learning;
26. Will be able to Express own ideas both orally and in writing in the national and foreign languages, will communicate with engineering community and the public;
27. Will be able to express own ideas in a conceptual and vividly, to interpret thoughts and facts in different contexts of Professional activity in true-to-life and virtual professional environments;
28. Will be able to think analytically, critically and individually, will be able to solve problems and make logical decisions;
29. Will able to apply the acquired knowledge to solve practicals tasks.

Management of Computer Systems specialization:
1. Will analyse, model, project and design computer systems;
2. Will manage a project of computer systems.
Management of Internet Projects specialization:
1. Will model visual objects;
2. Will analyse, project, design and manage a website project.
Programming for Mobile Devices specialization:
1. Will analyse, model, project and design applications for mobile devices;
2. Will manage a software project dedicated to mobile devices.
Activities of teaching and learning:
In the study process are applied various teaching and learning methods and the virtualization of study process as well. The student- centered teaching and learning oriented towards self- independent work, reasoned by tasks, a group work where Problem Based Learning takes a very important role.
In the programme is designed to reach an active students’ participation in the study process, a creation of educative environment applying such methods like and interactive lecture, discussions, a practical work, case studies, study of scientific literature and other informational references, solutions of problem based situations.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The study results are assessed at the level of achievement of studies and in the tenth grade of the criteria evaluation system according to the Utena College's study results assessment procedure in 2017, which can be found on web page:

The most common form of assessment in the College is an exam or project, depending on the results of the study programme. The final evaluation of a subject is a cumulative score
