General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:

The study programme aims at preparing a tourism specialist who, while organizing and managing socially responsible operations of tourism and accommodation companies, effectively communicating and cooperating, create tourism products and services that meet the public needs in a constantly changing business environment; foster human values and have knowledge and skills to work productively
independently and be able to continue studies and life-long personal and professional development.
Learning outcomes:

After successful completion the study programme, a student shall:
Knowledge and its application
- Know and apply key modern theories and concepts of management, business, economics and tourism, while organizing activities of tourism companies and hotels.
-Understand and apply the legislation governing tourism and hotel activities in national and global market.
Research skills
- Conduct research of tourism and hotels performance, evaluate market changes and adopt decisions for sustainable tourism and hotel business development.
- Use modern information technologies and databases, process, present and reasonably interpret data needed for making decisions.
Special skills
- Analyze business environment, manage activities of tourism and accommodation companies and their branches, while envisioning needs and sources of human, financial and other resources.
- Create products for tourism and hotels sector and manage processes of sales in constantly changing business environment.
- Cater for clients of different needs and cultures by organizing and providing them various tourism and accommodation services.
- Apply internal, external and intercultural communication models in various work and communication situations.
Social and personal skills
- Responsibly and effectively communicate and cooperate with business partners and clients in national and international context.

Activities of teaching and learning:

The entirety of teaching and learning methods is designed to develop the future professionals’ general skills necessary for his/her independent and creative work as well as special vocational skills in the fields of business, marketing, hospitality, etc. The prevailing methods promote students’ initiative, performance as well as competencies and skills development while studying theory fundamentals, while practicing and carrying out individual tasks such as demonstration, information search, problem solving, simulation, problem teaching, project work, group practice, logical proof, mind maps, etc.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The continuous assessment takes place over a period of time including the whole semester as well as exam session and the level of attainment reached by each individual student is evident from the composite score (IKI = Tkn + Ekn), which is determined by the teacher and depends on the intended learning outcomes, subject content and the nature of assignments.
Continuous and/or summative assessments on the course subject, exams or any other form of learning outcomes assessment as well as practical tasks and defence of internship report are all compulsory for the student. Every course ends in an exam which involves a test and practical tasks or project development and defense. The last step in internship assessment ends in submitting and defending an internship report. The following tasks are set in order to assess a certain stage in the course of studies: internship report, course paper and final paper. Learning outcomes of related subjects and the requirements to demonstrate a set of skills and abilities may be included in the internship report and internship assignments
Framework:
Study subjects (modules), practical training:
The Degree consists of 136 credits from completed core courses of study (including internship). Students being trained in the programme study the following core courses: Psychology of Communication, Applied Software Systems, Applied Mathematics, Tourism Sector and its Development Policy, Business Law, Intercultural Communication and Negotiations in Foreign Language I, Tourism Sources and Geography, Theory of Services and Hospitality, Applied Statistics, Management, Business Economics, Tourist accommodation, Accounting and Finance, Applied Research Methodology, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, Tourism Marketing, Event Management, Project Development and Management, Environmental and Civil Safety, Business Ethics, etc.
The total duration of internships is 20 weeks:
- professional practice activities I – 4 weeks;
- professional practice activities II – 4 weeks;
- pre-graduation practice – 12 weeks;
Optional courses:
Elective subjects for deepening in the field make 15 credits. Students can choose from one of the elective subjects groups:
• Tourism organization of a group of subjects – Tour management, The preparation and conduct of the excursions, Computer reservation systems;
• Hotel performance management group of subjects – Hotel management, Foodservice management, Hotel administration programmes.
Students can choose general subjects of college studies – 2nd Professional Foreign Language.
9 credits are allocated for unrestricted electives. The student has a choice: to enroll in courses offered by College or participate in mobility projects.

Graduate will be able to work in tourism companies providing travel organization, accommodation and catering, entertainment and other services required to meet the needs of tourists.
