General description:
Aim of the Study Programme:
To train a physiotherapy specialist capable to work independently or in a multidisciplinary team, to carry out the examination of a person's functional and physical condition, assessment, treatment by movement with physical and physical factors, to promote a healthy lifestyle and carry out preventive activities, to maintain and restore optimal physical and functional capacities, to follow science-based clinical practice, professional values and a holistic approach.
Learning Outcomes:
Knowledge and its application graduate
1. Knows and understands human anatomy, physiology, pathology, patient examination, evaluation, treatment methods, ergonomic principles of motion management and healthy lifestyle depending on the patient's age, physical and functional characteristics.
2. Is able to apply the key principles of ethics, confidential information, use of information technologies, professional communication, social responsibility in practical activities and research field, taking into account human natural rights and national health care policy.
Research skills
3. Is able to plan, conduct and publicize empirical research focused on practice, choose and apply qualitative and quantitative research methods to collect and analyze data, to follow the ethical principles of research, formulate conclusions and make innovative recommendations for solving rehabilitation process problems of a person.
Special skills
4. Is able to analyze and recognize problems related to a person's psychosocial, psycho-emotional, functional and physical condition, select and apply physiotherapy examination techniques, tools and methods, formulate a physiotherapy diagnosis.
5. Is able to prepare and carry out the physiotherapy plan, integrate science-based practice in prevention, health promotion, treatment, adaptation and rehabilitation, is able to fill in and analyze professional documentation.
6. Is able to independently perform physiotherapy procedures, critically evaluate treatment effectiveness, quality of physiotherapy rovided services and safety, follow the equal opportunities and professional liability principles and ethics.
7. Is able to analyze, evaluate and substantiate professional performance results in cooperation with the patient, family member, rehabilitation team, create a relationship of mutual trust.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Teaching and learning activities are focused on the development of students' personal, social, applied research and special skills as well as independent studies. Biggest part of the study programme is devoted to practical training and learning (practices and clinical practice). Following study methods are used: information methods (narrative, focused discussion, consolidation conversation, demonstration, etc.), practical (practical case studies, practical skills demonstration, commenting, simulation tasks, etc.), creative (logical proof, search, construction, work with scientific literature and etc.).
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Assessment is carried out during the whole semester. Cumulative criteria-based assessment is applied, consisting of mandatory interim and graduation assessments. Assessment methods allow for a combined assessment of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. To assess the learning outcomes methods of written evaluation (test, written quiz, practice report, examination) and oral evaluation (assessment of practical skills, defense of a project and a practice report) are used.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
– clinical practices integrated into the subjects of the field, which are carried out in specialized institutions (e.g. Pediatric Physiotherapy Practice is integrated into Pediatric Physiotherapy subject. Students carry out practices in pre-primary, special education and early rehabilitation institutions);
– the specifics of the subjects intended for deepening in the field allow students of higher years to deepen their knowledge and improve practical skills of manual methodologies (Soft Tissue Mobilization), to incorporate neurosensomotor integration into the rehabilitation process (Management of Sensory Methodologies, Motion Management) using multisensory equipment, to apply athletes' injury prevention and treatment methods (Sports Physiotherapy (Integrated Practice).

Graduates may work in public and private personal health care or other institutions providing personal health services to patients of all ages (hospitals, medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment institutions, pre-school and special education institutions, institutions providing early rehabilitation, wellness and sports centres).

Graduates may continue second cycle studies in the field of rehabilitation, in the group of business and public management study fields in accordance with the procedure established by the higher education institution.
