General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Prepare a professional, capable to work, establish and develop business, applying innovative management methods and technologies, responding to and managing changes, analyzing the changing needs of the society, able to solve complex business management problems in a modern dynamic business environment.
Learning outcomes:
1.1. Understands and is able to analyse modern business tendencies and innovations, global business environment.
1.2. Knows and is able to apply the main theories of management and economics, business law, which are based on the accumulation of knowledge and its effective use in all spheres of the society, as well as economic and social phenomena, their development, social responsibility, ethical principles and value provisions.
1.3. Knows the significance of information and modern technological innovations and changes in the global market, ensuring a long-life cycle of the company.
2.1. Is able to perform applied empirical research, apply quantitative and qualitative research methods, collect, systematize, analyze data, formulate conclusions, purposefully use the accumulated information to solve management problems and create business value.
3.1. Is able to establish an innovative, dynamic, sustainable enterprise, rapidly responding to the business environment changes.
3.2. Is able to manage processes in the company, ensuring the efficiency of performance.
3.3. Is able to develop business, ensuring continuous changes of the company activities and the use of technological and non-technological innovations, which add new value.
3.4. Is able to plan, organize, execute and control activities in the management of human resources, using modern communication technologies, in accordance with the requirements governing labor relations and professional ethics.
3.5. Is able to negotiate and cooperate with clients and partners using innovative means of communication.
4.1. Is able to express the ideas fluently and persuasively in the Lithuanian and foreign languages orally and in writing, efficiently communicate in the professional and inter-cultural environment.
4.2. Is able to communicate, cooperate and disseminate information to professionals in the range of fields and to representatives of society groups.
5.1. Is able to self-understand in the public context, act in a responsible manner in an indeterminate situation.
5.2. Is able to be a leader, creating significant positive changes, encouraging and motivating people to develop, achieve common aims for the benefit of the enterprise.
5.3. Is able to analyse and critically assess strategies of the chosen activity, to establish aims, formulate objectives and foresee the most efficient ways and measures for their implementation.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Innovative, active teaching and learning methods, student- centred self-study, based on practical tasks, group work, including very important problem-based and critical thinking are applied. In the study programme it is aimed at the active students’ participation in the study process, it is targeted to create the active educational environment, using various methods: interactive lectures, practical work, discussions, solution of problem-based situations, practical work with a company representative, analysis of references and multiple sources, projects development, etc.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Learning outcomes are evaluated by the levels of the study achievements and by the 10-grade-criterion assessment system, following Utena UAS Order for the Assessment of Learning Outcomes, 2017. The subjects studied are accomplished either by the examination or by the project work, depending on the intended learning outcomes of the study programme. Final evaluation of the subject is the accumulative point. The students’ achievements’ assessment formula is presented in the descriptors of the subjects. During the first lecture of every course, the lecturer introduces the students to the subject assessment.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
Students of the study programme are prepared as specialists for a modern organisation, who will be able to adapt to the dynamic business environment, establish and develop a modern business, will be aware of the changing societal needs, will apply the latest technologies managing processes and will be able to solve the most complex problem-based situations. Students will gain practical experience through practical learning with business representatives/ mentors, during internships.
