Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the Programme is to train financiers of enterprises and organizations capable to manage financial processes, evaluate the financial condition and performance results, prepare statistical, fiscal and financial accounts and budgets, business plans as well as to base the efficiency of the use of financial resources assessing the risk and to adapt (continuously learn) to the constantly changing environment.
Learning outcomes:
After successful completion the study programme, a graduate:
Knowledge and its application
1. Will know fundamental theories and principles of mathematics, management, finance and accountancy, and will be able to apply them in practical activity;
2. Will know and understand the functions of finance, the structure of national and international financial system, its processes, management peculiarities, types and role of financial markets, and will be able to apply acquired knowledge and perception when seeking business development
3. Will know and apply financial accountability regulating standard acts, methods of accounting and financial control, legal basics of environmental and human safety, the principles of code of ethics for professional accountants
The abilities to carry out research:
4. Will be able to carry out research by selecting and applying qualitative and quantitative methods, process data, by taking advantage of modern information and computer technologies, and analyze and interpret the results
Special abilities:
5. Will apply legal acts and other standard acts, regulating the activity of an organisation, financial accountability and taxation of the activity
6. Will be able to take advantage of modern information and computer technologies to summarize and systematize the data of economical and financial information for internal and external users
7. Will prepare financial statements, statistical, tax reports and declarations
8. Will analyze the indicators of organization’s financial, statistical and tax reports, evaluate financial condition and performance, assure financial control, provide recommendations for making financial and investment decisions
9. Will be able to collaborate when preparing organization budgets, business plans, substantiating the efficiency of financial resources usage and assessing the risk

Activities of teaching and learning:
The entirety of teaching and learning methods is aimed to develop general and personal, social and special abilities necessary for autonomous, creative activities and as well as to manage financial processes, to evaluate financial condition and results of activities, to prepare statistical, tax and financial accounts, budgets and business plans, as well as to substantiate efficiency of the use of financial resources taking into account the risk. The prevailing methods foster student's critical thinking, initiative and activity, form theoretical foundations and practical skills and abilities: problematic conversation, text analysis, case study, mind maps of concepts, project activities, creative group problem-solving, role-play method, situation simulation, problem solving and analysis, preparation and presentation of a research, information search and selection, discussion, debates, search for original technical solutions, application of special software packages, logical proof and other.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The continuous assessment of learning outcomes takes place over a whole semester as well as exam session and the level of achievement reached by each individual student is evident from the Individual Cumulative Index (ICI= Tkn + Ekn), which proportional valuation is determined by the teacher and depends on the intended learning outcomes, subject content and the nature of assignments. All continuous and/or interim assessments of the subject, exams or any other form of learning outcomes assessment as well as practical tasks and defense of practice report (analysis) are all compulsory for the student. Exam method is used for final evaluation of every subject which involves a test and practical tasks or development and defense of a project. The practice assessment ends by submitting and defending a practice report. The following tasks are set in order to assess a certain stage in the course of studies: practice report, course paper and final paper. Learning outcomes and requirements to demonstrate a set of skills and abilities of not just one but of related subjects may encompass the practice report and practice assignments.
Framework:
Study subjects (modules), practical training:
Scope the main part of study field subjects is 135 credits (including practice).
The main study subjects: Applied Mathematics, Document Management, Economics, Management, Applied Research Methodology, Economic Statistics, Marketing, Economics of Enterprises, The Law, Basics of Accounting, Finance, Financial Accounting (subject/practice), Management Accounting, Economical Informatics, Computerized Accounting Practice, Financial Activities Analysis of Enterprises (subject / practice), Tax System, Management of Finances and Investments (subject / practice), Course Paper, Internal Control and Financial Audit, Accounting and Financial Accountability of the Public Sector, Business Risk Management, etc.
The total duration of practices is 20 weeks:
- Computerized Accounting Practice – 4 weeks;
- Final Practice – 8 weeks.
Practices integrated into the subject:
- Financial Accounting (subject / practice) – 2 weeks;
- Financial Activities Analysis of Enterprises (subject / practice) – 2 weeks,
Management of Finances and Investments (subject / practice) – 4 weeks.
Specialisations:

Optional courses:
Elective subjects for deepening in the field make 15 credits. One of the elective subject groups can be chosen:
- International Finance / International Business / International Finance (in English);
- Public Procurement / Development and Management of Projects / Development and Management of Projects (in English);
Money and Banks / Financial Markets / Financial Markets (in English);
General subjects of college studies can be chosen (6 credits):
- Communication Psychology / Business Ethics / Organizational Psychology;
- Social Communication / Art of Negotiation;
9 credits are allocated for freely elective subjects. Students can freely choose subjects offered by the College or follow subjects by taking part in mobility projects.
