General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Prepare accounting professional bachelors who are able to self- organize and manage the business and public sector entities accounting control, accounting policy-making and implementation processes, analyze and evaluate the performance of the company.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
1. Prepare the accounting policy of the economic entity in accordance with the Lithuanian Republic and International Accounting Standards.
2. Form the accounting information database with the help of latest IT appliances.
Ability to carry out research:
3. To know and evaluate the changing international economic and working environment, using appropriate methods.
4. Collect, organize, provide objective and rational use of business information through accounting theory, research and practice.
5. Analyze, evaluate the financial condition and results of operations. To provide conclusions and recommendations for the management and financial decisions.
Special abilities:
6. Manage the entity's accounting from primary accounting documents to financial statements preparation.
7. Prepare financial, statistical, tax reports.
8. Ensure accounting system reliability by checking the recorded accounting processes and detecting errors and fraud.
9. Develop and implement an internal control system, taking into account the policy-making and the specific organization of the different operating companies.
10. Identify the accounting system performance issues and make suggestions for improvement of accounting policies.
11. Prepare the entity budgets and monitor their execution, using the analytical thinking and creativity.

12. Integration into the team activities, ethically and professionally deal with professional challenges.
13. Communicate in writing and orally administered Lithuanian and international accounting terminology, conveying professional knowledge of Lithuanian and foreign language.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Focuses on the development of general and special competences and creativity: lectures, seminars, discussions, individual and group projects, practical seminars, case analysis, public presentation and defence of papers, discussions, concept map, reading and discussing problems, writing scientific articles, searching and systematizing information etc.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Programme study results are assessed both during the whole semester and the exam applying the cumulative assessment method. Possible methods of settlement: test, project, exams, projects, self-study creative tasks seminars, course papers, practical reports, exams and final thesis.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The programme is oriented towards a socially responsible business aimed at training accounting specialists who are focused on the management of financial accounting, knowledgeable and able to choose the right accounting methods and capable of effectively and ethically solving problems. Students can study and perform practice abroad through various funds, bilateral agreements, participate in international active training programmes (IP), study separate subjects in a foreign language.

Graduates of study programme will be able to work as accountants in different enterprises, institutions and organizations and offices, as book-keepers, assistant auditors, provide accounting services in other areas, establish accounting service enterprises and set up a business.

Can continue studies in Lithuania and foreign universities in the field of social sciences in business and management, economics, accounting study field programmes.
