Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
to develop communication professional capable of working in the creative industries business or public sector and able to manage creative communication projects.
Learning outcomes:
A graduate will be able to:
- creatively apply communication strategies in business and project management, taking into account the specifics of communication processes;
- create content and communication products for media (radio, television, website), using professional software;
- carry out market and product communication research and to apply research results in professional activities;
- frame and implement solutions for specific communication projects, creatively using expression tools according the needs of different target groups;
- initiate and responsibly implement creative communication projects both by oneself and in teams;
- develop a creative business and create added value with creative solutions.
Activities of teaching and learning:
To achieve the excellence in study results and forms, the following study methods are used: problematic teaching, case studies, problem-based tasks, interactive individualios konsultacijostasks, discussions, presentation of scientific problems, writing papers, project preparation, individual and group work, concepts maps, discussions, expert method.
Individual counseling for each subject is applied to meet individual needs of the student.
Practical skills are consolidated by coursework and complex projects, professional practice in enterprises. Professional practice provides an opportunity to to deepen the knowledge of creative business and communication in real conditions and at the same time prepare for the final work.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Verbal assessment methods (individual, frontal survey), written test methods (written interview, test, control works, etc.), practical test methods (examinations, reports, etc.) are used to verify that the study outcomes are achieved. Various evaluation methods are used to assess problem-solving tasks: group and individual presentation, essay analysis, analysis of study achievement folders, interview, analysis of reports, semi-open or full-time testing, etc.
Students' knowledge, abilities and qualifications of a BA undergraduate study program are assessed using a ten-point cumulative assessment system.
The results are evaluated during the interim evaluations (written reports, supervised works, presentations, creative projects, laboratory works are described and interpreted). The final grade consists of intermediate grades and exam grades.

Graduates in creative industries work in corporate communications and marketing departments, often freelance writers who can offer a wide range of services and are highly attractive to businesses for their multifunctionality. Creative solutions are becoming more and more important in transport, construction, design companies. VGTU graduates of creative industries have enjoyed recognition of various types of companies in their wide range of competencies, making up almost 90%. they work by specialty (including those who work abroad).
