General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Programme aim – to train high quality professional bachelors in economics, who are able to process and evaluate economical information, to identify business entity’s economic issues and justify their decisions and make suggestions for improvement of the global and constantly changing business environment. The Programme aim meets the strategic goals of VK: to provide high quality, flexible and modern studies, oriented into expectations of students, encouraging independent life – long learning, critical thinking, meeting to the needs of labour market and ensuring students’ career opportunities
Learning outcomes:
1. To make decisions evaluating their impact on economic and cultural development of society, welfare and environment.
2. Critically evaluate and reflect one’s activities, being aware of the importance of lifelong learning
3. To communicate in writing and orally, by conveying the professional knowledge in Lithuanian and in a foreign language.
4. To cooperate, to work in a team, taking responsibility for one’s and colleagues work
5. To know the research methods and forecast models of economic analysis
6. To collect, systematize and evaluate the economic information, using a range of methods of analysis, in accordance with the principle of confidentiality
7. To know the main economic concepts, principles, theories and apply them in practice
8. To perform empirical study, which is orientated into business entity’s activities, using modern information technologies and economic information systems
9. To analyse and evaluate the entity’s environment internal and external economic processes and events
10. To formulate economic analysis conclusions, to find and prove the solutions to common problems based on the business entity
11. To plan, organise and run an entity or its division economic, financial and investment activity
12. To evaluate business entity‘s economic, financial and investment activities
13. To make suggestions for economic development and innovation in economic matters.

Focuses on the development of general and special competences and creativity: lecture, discussion, problem teaching, negotiation, heuristic conversation, mind map, portfolio method, group work, brainstorm, individual work, team work, task solving and analysis, modelling situations, project, case study, role play games, seminar, Venn diagram, M scheme, training and professional activity practice, business simulation.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Evaluation of the programme learning outcomes is performed applying the cumulative assessment during the entire semester and exam session.

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The Programme is oriented into the issues of economic analysis and justification of a specific business entity or its division economic, financial and investment performance. It is relevant for making management decisions to every small or big business entity. The program integrates knowledge of economics and management sciences. Future economists develop practical skills of processing economic data, empirical research, analysis and evaluation of business entity's economic, financial and investment activity, as well as business entity planning, organizing and managing competences

Having acquired the degree the person is competent to work as an economist, analyst, project manager and perform other related job activities in different business entities, financial or investment companies as well as in the institutions of local and municipal administration, budgetary organizations or to establish and run own business.

Graduates can continue studies in Lithuania and foreign universities in a field of social sciences, business, management, finance, economics and accounting study programmes.
