General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare highly qualified Safety Engineering specialists with bachelor degree, who would be able to find the necessary information, able to work with the equipment, plan and carry out experiments, process and evaluate their data and provide conclusions, be able to assess the importance and structure of safety security systems; identify the various characteristics of risks associated with fire and extreme situations, hazards, evaluate materials and phenomena risks and be able to control it, think critically and creatively, be able to maintain their professional competences for lifelong learning.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge
To know the fundamentals of natural, humanitarian, social sciences and mathematics, systematically understand the essential theoretical and applied theoretical fundamentals and concepts in the field of safety engineering.
To have a safety engineering knowledge and abilities corresponding to Fire Safety study program and be able to apply them.
Research skills
To be able to find scientific and professional information using databases and other sources of information.
To be able to plan and perform the necessary experiments, work with equipment used in safety engineering, to process and evaluate their data and provide conclusions.
Engineering analysis
To be able to apply personal knowledge and understanding in the formulation and analysis of safety engineering problems and tasks related to fires and emergencies, and be able to choose of appropriate methods, experimental and production equipment.
To be able to choose and use appropriate analytical and modeling methods of safety engineering.
Engineering design
To be able to apply the safety engineering knowledge and understanding in the design and implementation of projects in line with the defined requirements.
Will be able to understand design methodology of safety systems and be able to apply them in their own work.
Personal and social abilities
To be able to work effectively, independently and in a team, communicate with engineering community and general public.
To comply with professional ethics and engineering practices, to understand the importance of lifelong learning and prepare for it.
Engineering practice ability
To be able to choose and apply appropriate methods, tools and equipment to a solutions of practical safety engineering problems; to know the constructions, principles of operation and functions of engineering equipment, to be able to assess and control the risks of the use of materials and elements.
Be able to understand, observe and evaluate professional ethics, environmental and commercial circumstances of engineering activities, principles of organization, importance of safety and basic safety requirements.

Interactive lectures and problem based learning, laboratory works, practices, demonstration lectures, individual or team work tasks, excursions, case studies, reports and papers

Cumulative assessment system: individual work tasks and tests, reports of laboratory works and practices, course and complex projects, defence of final thesis.
