General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme:
To equip specialists of electrical engineering being able to install, operate, design, upgrade and efficiently control electrical and automation equipment and automated systems, organize professional acivities in the global market by applying the attained knowledge, skills, creative and critical thinking. Learning outcomes: 1. Know the general concepts of natural sciences and mathematics, regularities and laws that are necessary for the understanding of the fundamental principles of the study programme of electrical and automation equipment. 2. Attain the fundamental practice skills in electrical and automation equipment corresponding to the electrical engineering knowledge of the study programme and be able to apply it in identifying and solving complex specific and abstract problems in the field of performance. 3. Be able to use their knowledge and understanding to analyse, select and apply appropriate scientific analytical and modeling methods and choose the experimental and production equipment for solving issues, and evaluating the norms and standards of industrial work. 4. Be able to apply the knowledge and understanding while formulating and executing the design tasks in accordance with the principles of the organization, structure, functioning and quantitative parameters of electrical and automation equipment. 5. Be able to find the necessary professional information and perform the analysis of the company activities and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the performance by using scientific and engineering sources of information. 6. Be able to perform and obtain the skills for solving engineering tasks of electrical and automation equipment, carry out the necessary experiments, process and systematize the outcomes, provide conclusions. 7. Be able to apply the knowledge and organize the operation of the electrical farm, plan the activities of the unit and manage the employees in selecting the appropriate methods, experimental and production equipment.

8. Be able to apply the attained professional, theoretical and applied knowledge of electrical and automation equipment, of installation and repair technologies, operate and upgrade electrical and automation equipment by debugging, diagnosing faults and removing technical problems. 9.Understand the principles of the organization of engineering activities, ethical, environmental and commercial considerations, and the basic environmental and human safety requirements applying the computer software. 10. Be able to solve engineering problems independently and in a team with the engineering community and general public. 11. Understand the impact of engineering solutions of electrical and automation equipment on the environment and society, follow the standards of professional ethics and feel the responsibility for the outcomes of engineering activities. 12. Understand the main aspects of the project execution and management at the level of engineering, perceive the importance of lifelong learning and prepare for it. Activities of teaching and learning: Lectures, seminars, practical work, laboratory work, individual work, professional practice and other teaching / learning activities Methods of assessment of learning achievements: Examinations, colloquiums, tests, oral/written interviews, preparation and presentation of practice reports, preparation and presentation of semester papers, preparation and presentation of projects and other teaching/learning methods. Examinations and projects are executed in written and oral forms. The student‘s academic progress is assessed from 1point to 10 points. The assessment from 1 point to 5 points is unsatisfactory. Smart Things Technologies A1/ Robots Control A2 Distinctive features of a study programme: Access to professional activity or further study: Access to professional activity: Graduates of the Electrical and Automation Equipment study programme will be able to work in various power plants, substations or electricity grid enterprises, industrial plants, public and private limited companies of Lithuania and other European countries. They can arrange installation and repair work of electrical and automation equipment, select the appropriate methods of execution of work, calculate and evaluate material and technical resources, moreover, identify the causes of failures and eliminate them, check the quality of the work performed, use the design and estimate documentation, technical standards and drawings, will be able to collect and interpret data which are necessary for making decisions, forward information, ideas, problems and solutions in communication, therefore, this profession is demanded and promising in the modern market. Access to further study: Graduates may seek the inclusion of their learning outcomes if they intend to continue studies in the undergraduate study programme of the first cycle at university. Having completed additional studies and having fulfilled the requirements set by the higher educational institution, they have the right to enter the post graduate studies of the second cycle.
