General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the programme is to train environmental engineering specialists having knowledge of mechanisms of processes in living nature, wastewater and air pollution cleaning, utilization of domestic and industrial wastes, use of preventive methods of pollution, development of modern economy, problems and reasons of environmental protection and harmonious development, ability to identify and analyze environmental situation at present and in the future, estimate the scale of risks in environmental protection, design devices and their details for environmental protection, use the achievements of informatic technologies. Acquired knowledge and skill be able to combine with fundamentals of business and management, be able to communicate with specialist and non-specialists, could be able to study self-independent, capable of creative and critical intellection.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge of mathematics and fundamental knowledge of engineering field: chemistry, physics, engineering graphics, applied mechanics, materials engineering, the main construction elements of engineering (on the examples of Environmental Engineering);

knowledge of humanitarian and social sciences for the achievement of engineering goals, as well as for education of broader erudition and philosophical world outlook;

coherent knowledge of modern environmental technologies: waste decontamination, protection of atmosphere, soil, water bodies (rivers, lakes, seas); ways of pollution prevention;

the ability to apply their knowledge and understanding to recognize and analyze new Environmental Engineering issues and plan the solution strategies;

the ability to select and apply relevant analytic and modeling methods for solving environmental protection issues;

an understanding of design methodologies, and an ability to use them in the design of modern environmental equipment and their elements;

the ability to conduct searches and find necessary literature, to use data bases and other sources of information (manuals, legal acts and other) for solving environmental protection issues;

the ability to design and conduct appropriate experiments including formulation of the problem, selection of research methods and equipment, interpret the data and draw conclusions;

the ability to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills to solve engineering problems;

to make innovative solutions, based on the results of environment research and analysis of technological processes and to evaluate from ethical, social, economic and safety points of view;

the ability to communicate orally and in writing, to function effectively as an individual and as a member of a team, ability to clearly and correctly present research results and conclusions to various audiences;

use diverse methods to communicate effectively not only with the professional community, but also with society at large;

the ability to learn and recognize the need for importance of individual life-long learning.
