General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of the study programme is to train professionals in Industrial Engineering and Management by providing them the basic knowledge of fundamental sciences and industrial engineering and developing their skills in creative and critical solving the manufacturing problems upon applying the principles of lifelong learning.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge:
The knowledge of basics of fundamental sciences, phenomena and processes, mathematical models, mathematical analysis, the theory of probabilities, numerical methods, physics, chemistry, humanities and social sciences, general technology sciences about the principles of their application.
Industrial Technology specialization:
The knowledge of energy transformation machines, the cutting theory and tools, computerized control of technologies, repair technologies, designing of technological processes, CAD/CAM/CAE application in designing of technological processes, automation of technological processes, designing of enterprises as well as integrated manufacturing.
Industrial Enterprises Management specialization:
The knowledge of staff management, management of industrial enterprises, planning, organization and preparation of manufacturing activities, industrial marketing, management of engineering changes and peculiarities of strategic management, civil law and industrial law, accounting and audit.
Research skills:
The capability to investigate the manufacturing processes upon applying the theoretical knowledge of humanities, social society development sciences and technological sciences as well as theories of mathematics and natural sciences, to apply modern programming & technological equipment and information technologies for carrying out the research works and implementation and spreading the results of the latter at industrial enterprises.
Industrial Technology specialization:
The capability to choose and apply analytic and modelling methods, to understand and analyze the processes of design, production and application of technologies and technological equipment, to identify arising problems and find the ways for their solving.
Industrial Enterprises Management specialization:
The capability to choose and apply analytic and modelling methods, to identify and analyze problems of management of manufacturing engineering and industrial enterprises and to propose a way for their solving on the base of results of the analysis.
Engineering analysis:
The capability to plan and carry out engineering analysis, to perform critical assessment and provide the obtained results, to use computer-aided and analytic methods and equipment for selecting and applying appropriate engineering solutions.
Industrial Technology specialization:
The capability to analyze manufacturing processes, to choose materials usable for manufacturing and the required equipment, to carry out engineering calculations of manufacturing systems, to design technologies and technological equipment.
Industrial Enterprises Management specialization:
The capability to apply methods of analysis for organization of manufacturing activities, to cooperate with professionals of various branches of technology and business management, to make decisions in production management and substantiate their analysis in the engineering, economic and social aspects.
Engineering design:
The capability to use catalogues and other databases in designing and to apply program packages intended for designing.
Industrial Technology specialization:
The capability to assess the peculiarities and properties of the materials, tools & machines usables in manufacturing, and the requirements set for them, to select them for specific industrial products, to choose means and methods for automation of production, to design enterprises, to evaluate objectively the situation, to choose machines required for the technological processes upon taking into account the environmental, economic and social provisions.
Industrial Enterprises Management specialization:
The capability to tackle production management problems, to develop a plan of development of priority activities of an industrial enterprise, to make decisions upon taking into account the life cycle of the product and the processes in the environment of the enterprise.
Engineering practice ability
The capability to formulate the requirements to be set for the object under designing and the technological processes; to plan measures for their implementation.
Industrial Technology specialization:
The capability to tackle problems arising in the interdisciplinary professional activities, to apply new methods and information technologies for solving various engineering problems.
Industrial Enterprises Management specialization:
The capability to apply innovations for improving the activities of industrial enterprises.
Personal and social abilities
The capability to work in a team, to communicate with professionals of the same area and allied areas, to defend reasonably their opinions, to take an initiative in decision-making, to find business partners, to make and maintain contacts, to negotiate, to present the results of their activities in a correct state language or at least one foreign language in writing or orally.
Industrial Technology specialization:
The capability to develop and apply mathematical thinking and knowledge of natural sciences for solving engineering problems, to provide information in a graphical and a textual form upon applying information technologies.
Industrial Enterprises Management specialization:
The capability to plan their activities, to improve their professional competence through lifelong learning, to use legal and norming documents.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
For the assessment of students' knowledge and skills, the ten grade proportional cumulative mark system (cumulative assessment) is used.
