Summary of the Profile

Objective of a study programme:
To prepare specialists of international business, able to establish and manage an international business company, to initiate and implement business projects, corresponding to company goals consumer needs, to develop systems of internal and external communication which ensure effective communication with business partners and customers in national and international markets.

Learning outcomes:
After graduating from the studies, a person will be able:
1. To integrally apply knowledge of economics, management and other social sciences when solving complex business tasks in the changing international markets.
2. To creatively apply modern information technologies and communication models when acting in multicultural teams and global business environment under conditions of competition and risk.
3. To independently do market research, to identify the potential of target markets and, depending on market features, to form a company's communication strategy and coordinate a marketing complex.
4. To analyze and assess international business environment, trends of business development when implementing company goals and making strategic decisions on business development.
5. To plan the activity of an international business company when drawing various funding sources, when efficiently controlling human, tangible and financial resources of a company in the stages of business establishment and development.
6. To control the processes of an international business company's activity when applying efficient methods of management and when assuring the quality of implemented activity and projects.
8. To create and develop systems of internal and external communication of an international business company, which form a company's image and help to efficiently communicate a company's offers in international markets.
9. Independently and responsibly make strategic business decisions necessary for an efficient change management in a company.
10. To communicate professionally and constructively cooperate with customers, business partners when implementing international business projects in the country and abroad.
11. Constantly assess and improve one's professional activity and to learn independently when adapting to the changing conditions of business environment and technological advance.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Analysis of practical situations and case studines, project work, concept and idea map, task solving, , document analysis,problem-based teaching, practice in a workplace, solving real problems in project activity , demonstration and analysis of practical examples , practices of professional activity, final thesis.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment and a ten-point assessment system are applied. When applying cumulative assessment the learning outcomes are evaluated by interim assignments. Course unit programmes foresee certain structural elements of assessment, their weight in the final assessment, content, criteria and requirements for certain tasks of assessment. Studies of each course unit end with an examination. In the Final Thesis students demonstrate the achieved learning outcomes of International Business and Communication study programme.

Optional course units correspond to the values of the University and aim at developing exceptional competences of a student in order to form a unified portrait of a student. 4 competences of a student are distinguished: Creativity and Entrepreneurship, Digital Communication, Linguistic Communication, Personal Development and Career.
Teaching and Final practices of professional activity are done.

Access to professional activity:
Graduates will be able to establish the chosen direction businesses enterprises, organize international businesses, and manage internal and external communications of the company, to work as functional department heads and specialists in international business ventures also as project managers or sales managers.

Studies can be continued in Lithuanian and foreign higher schools, implementing II cycle study programmes in the group of Business and Public Management study field. Graduates, aiming at studying in the second cycle studies of business field must conform to the requirements pre-set by the higher school and in the descriptor of the group of study field or fields, have knowledge and abilities necessary for studies in accordance with the programmes of a certain field. Graduates also may study according to study programmes that do not provide any degree.
