Summary of the Profile

Objective of a study programme:
Objective of a study programme:
– is to prepare programming specialists, able to design, create and manage applied programmes, internet webpages, databases, products of multimedia and animation, necessary in
order to improve and manage the constantly changing processes of company activity.

Activities of teaching and learning:
presentation, expert method, group project, Individual assignment, information search assignment, team work, creative work, laboratory work, literature studying, teaching communicating, practical situations analysis, problem-based learning, project work, Real problems solving, programming, task solving and so on.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment and a ten-point assessment system are applied. When applying cumulative assessment the learning outcomes are evaluated by interim assignments. Course unit programmes foresee certain structural elements of assessment, their weight in the final assessment, content, criteria and requirements for certain tasks of assessment. Studies of each course unit end with an examination. In the Final Thesis students demonstrate the achieved learning outcomes of Programming and Multimedia study programme.
Achieved results of study programme students demonstrate while defending thesis.

Learning outcomes:
After graduating from the studies, a person will be able:
1. to apply the knowledge of computer hardware and software, necessary in order to model and design the means of human and computer interaction.
2. to analyze the needs of potential customers and users of software, necessary in order to design and
introduce programme systems in various fields of activity.
3. To apply the mechanisms of operational systems, web equipment management and
protection in order to ensure the safety of information.
4. to apply digit methods and algorithms, mathematical, statistical, data collection and
analysis methods, necessary in order to determine the need for programme systems and their components.
5. to apply analysis and modeling methods and means of information processing when designing programme systems.
6. to apply programme design principles, requirements, programming languages, when developing programme products in accordance with tasks.
7. to develop and manage databases, through application of database management systems.
8. to develop applied programmes, webpages, products of multimedia and animation,
corresponding to the needs of organizations.
9. to apply testing methods, when doing independently the works of programme system development and maintenance.
10. to apply the principles of computer graphics and information visualization, multimedia technologies when developing programme systems.
11. to assess the made decisions on the development of programme systems on legal, economic, safety and technological approach.
12. to assess one’s professional activity, knowledge and experience, to foresee the trends of self-expression and self-development, and to develop one’s professionalism in a constantly changing society.

Framework: Study subjects, practical training:
The Study Field Course Units:
Professional Foreign Language, Basics of Programming, Mathematics, Computer Architecture and Operation Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Object Programming, Multimedia Technologies, Programming with JAVA, Computer Statistics Development of smart device programmes, Interactive Multimedia, System design and databases, Intellectual Property Law, IT Project Management and technologies, Audiovisual technologies, Human and Computer Interaction, web system programming, programme System Engineering, Robotics or Supplemented Technologies of Reality, Artificial Intellect or Computer Game Programing.
Optional course units correspond to the values of the University and aim at developing exceptional competences of a student in order to form a unified portrait of a student. 4 competences of a student are distinguished: Creativity and Entrepreneurship, Digital Communication, Linguistic Communication, Personal Development and Career Management.
Two professional activity internships are performed (training and final internships)

Access to professional activity:
Graduate may work as a programmer, IT specialist, IT service administrator, project manager of product development in the field of IT. Also they can create and set up businesses which would be dedicated for the improvement, creation and application in the market of created, during their studies, innovative programs and computer games, animation, application programs and other IT products.

Access to further studies:
Studies can be continued in Lithuanian and foreign higher schools, implementing II cycle study programmes in the group of Programme systems study field. Graduates, aiming at studying in the second cycle studies of programme systems field must conform to the requirements pre-set by the higher school and in the descriptor of the group of study field or fields, have knowledge and abilities necessary for studies in accordance with the programmes of a certain field. Graduates also may study according to study programmes that do not provide any degree.
