Summary of the Profile

Objective of a study programme:
To prepare specialists of the sector of creative industries, able to independently produce, manage and commercialise creative and entertainment projects, to advertise and disseminate the results and products of producing activity, to initiate and develop activities of cultural, entertainment and creative areas in Lithuania and foreign countries.

Learning outcomes:
After graduating from the studies, a person will be able:
1. To integrally apply the knowledge and progressive theories of communication, management, law and other sciences when implementing producing activity in the sector of creative industries.
2. To creatively apply the knowledge of art, culture, aesthetics when initiating and implementing the projects of events and media.
3. To analyze and assess the local and the global field of culture, the situation in the market of creative industries and trends in change when foreseeing the directions, goals and strategies of professional activity.
4. To assess the demand for creativity and entertainment projects, their profitability, impact of creative activity on the cultural development of society, while applying quantitative and qualitative research methods to a consumer.
5. To generate ideas and conceptions of creative projects both individually and in a team when foreseeing the ways of implementation, means of expression and communication.
6. To draft a plan of creative project when foreseeing the necessary activities, processes, human, material and financial resources aiming at the optimal realization of a creative idea.
7. `To implement creativity and entertainment projects when applying the methods of culture management, legal principles of producer activity, advanced creative and teachnological means.
8. To present, publicize and commercialize the results and products of producer activity, while applying effective methods of marketing and communication.
9. To integrate oneself as a creator into the processes of the modern mediated culture while undertaking social responsibility for the decisions of producer activity and the impact of creative activity on society.
10. To constantly assess one's professional qualification, to foresee the trends of self-expression and self-development, to learn independently in order to achieve creative and technological advance when acting competitively in the sector of creative industries.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Problem-based learning, case, and case studies, creative project development and delivery, project work, glossary, performing, media, visual art projects, sketches, performance, and delivery scenarios, literature and document analysis, discussion and training collaborative practice in the workplace, demonstrating practical examples and analysis of the real problems in project work and so on.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment and a ten-point assessment system are applied. When applying cumulative assessment the learning outcomes are evaluated by interim assignments. Course unit programmes foresee certain structural elements of assessment, their weight in the final assessment, content, criteria and requirements for certain tasks of assessment. Studies of each course unit end with an examination. In the Final Thesis students demonstrate the achieved learning outcomes of Creative and Entertainment Industries study programme.

Professional Foreign Language, Story Creation and Telling, Economics and Management, Marketing, Acting and Stage Language, Event Organization, Communication Theory, Basics of Directing, Digital Photography, Development of Audiovisual Products, Social Research Methodology, Management of Performers, Public Relations, Producing, Finance and Budget of Creative Projects, Intellectual Property Law, Culture Policy, Atlikėjų vadyba, Event Organization, Publicity Events, TV projects, Cinema Projects.
Optional course units correspond to the values of the University and aim at developing exceptional competences of a student in order to form a unified portrait of a student. 4 competences of a student are distinguished: Creativity and Entrepreneurship, Digital Communication, Linguistic Communication, Personal Development and Career Management.
Teaching and Final practices of professional activity are done.

Access to professional activity:
Students who have graduated from Creative and Entertainment Industries Study Programme and who are awarded a professional bachelor qualification degree in social sciences, can work in different Lithuanian and foreign companies, organizations and their divisions of creative industries sector. Graduates are able to initiate, produce and position projects of creative and entertainment industries, are able to apply innovative and optimally effective models of communication, creativity and entrepreneurship when developing the activity of public, state and business organizations in the area of creative industries, to do independent research on the sector of creative industries, to prepare strategies of development and change, related to the perspectives of culture, creativity and entertainment business in Lithuania and abroad.

Access to further studies:
Studies can be continued in Lithuanian and foreign higher schools, implementing II cycle study programmes in the group of Communication study field. Graduates, aiming at studying in the second cycle studies of communication field must conform to the requirements pre-set by the higher school and in the descriptor of the group of study field or fields, have knowledge and abilities necessary for studies in accordance with the programmes of a certain field. Graduates also may study according to study programmes that do not provide any degree.
