Activities of teaching and learning:
To achieve intended learning outcomes active teaching and learning methods are used (lectures, laboratory works, individual projects, individual consultations, seminars, workshops, group works, case studies, etc). The entirety of teaching and learning methods is designed to develop the future professionals’ general skills necessary for his/her independent and creative work as well as special professional skills.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Ten-point criterion-based assessment system and accumulative assessment is applied. Outcomes of the study subject are evaluated through medium credits during the semester (papers are written, control works, projects are orally and in written developed, laboratory works are carried out and then orally defended, etc.). Studies of each subject end with exam or assessment of a work (project) done by the student independently. Final evaluation (mark) is compiled from medium credits and exam (Project / work) marks multiplied by weighed coefficients. Practice evaluation is ended by submitting and defending a practice report.
Framework:
Scope of the main part of study field subjects is 141 credits (including practices). The main subjects studied: Chemistry, Information Technology, Mathematics, Construction Drawing, Building Materials, Applied Physics, Building Physics, Basics of Construction, Applied Mechanics, Geodesy (including practice), Building Structures, Construction Economics, Environmental and Human Safety, Geotechnics, Technology of Construction Work, Engineering Systems, Basics of Structural Analysis, Building Maintenance, Organization of Construction Work, and the Final Project.
Duration of professional practices is 22 weeks:
- Geodesy Practice – 2 weeks;
- Introductory Construction Works Practice – 4 weeks;
- Industrial Practice – 12 weeks;
- Pre-graduation Practice – 4 weeks;
