Summary of the Profile

General Description: Objective(s) of the study programme: To prepare qualified educators with integral knowledge and abilities, the values necessary to implement educational processes at basic and secondary education institutions, non-formal education institutions, focusing on the diversity of learners’ needs and opportunities, the development of their own and learners’ personality powers. Learning outcomes: The graduates of the programme will: 1. will know and understand, analyse and evaluate the psychoeducational processes of pupils in basic and primary education and will be able to manage them creatively focusing on educational goals; 2. will acquire the knowledge of the chosen subjects and abilities to apply it integrally in the educational process; 3. using psychoeducational knowledge will personalise the educational process towards learning motivation, municipal learning and creativity development; 4. while implementing the research of educational activities will demonstrate the knowledge of different research methodologies and will be able to analyse theoretically and empirically the chosen educational problem in accordance with the researcher’s ethics; 5. will be able to collect information about the learner’s progress, to analyse, interpret, evaluate critically,

formulate conclusions and to apply the research results in the development of the educational process; 6. on the basis of the research will be able to prepare written papers, final thesis, present and defend them publicly; 7. will be able to identify the external and internal factors that enable or suppress the educational process and to provide the appropriate means of influence; 8. will be able to create the content of the learning subjects taking into account their own professional and learners’ needs, possibilities, environment factors and educational priorities, will be able to realise it creatively applying the latest learning/teaching technologies and trying to achieve learner’s individual progress; 9. will be able to evaluate the progress of every student in the context of a personalised inclusive education concept and to set goals, methods and didactic tools for its development, to implement it and to ensure feedback; 10. will be able to analyse, interpret, evaluate and explain the phenomena and latest tendencies of the learning subjects in the local and global context; 11. will be able to implement the internal (disciplinary) and external (interdisciplinary) integration of the educational content; 12. will be able to work in a team, to communicate orally and in writing in various situations, to convey information, ideas, problems and their solutions related to pupils’ education in the national, native and/or foreign language; 13. will be able to communicate and cooperate effectively with pupils and their parents (guardians), colleagues, educational assistants and other participants of the educational process in accordance with the principles of professional ethics, taking into account the level of development of the individual and the group and the cultural context; 14. being aware of the socio-cultural context and peculiarities of the country will be able to communicate empathically with the representatives of different cultures taking into account the specificity of their traditions and the established ways of communication; 15. will acquire learning and self-knowledge skills necessary for the planning of the professional activities, will be able to take personal responsibility for activities and will know the boundaries of their competences, will provide prospects for professional development; 16. constantly updating and deepening educational knowledge and the knowledge of the learning subjects, reflecting on experience, will participate in educational processes, networks of professional community, will cooperate and work in a team with other participants of the educational process. work; presentation and reflection of personal experience; providing feedback; simulation and contextual exercises: commenting, interpreting, moderating; creative exercises: brainstorm, concept map, collage / gallery, etc. Methods for independent work: search and analysis of literature, modelling and research of educational activities: data collection, recording, analysis and generalization; creative research methods: observation, experimenting, exploratory conversation; interpretation of research data and formulation of recommendations; assistance; self-study work; portfolio, etc. Methods of assessment of learning achievements: Methods for assessing learning outcomes: written examination; summarising group discussions; project presentation; public defence of the work; compliance of individual and group work with content and structure requirements; critical assessment of self-study and summary of experience; summarising and critical assessment of group work; role-play assessment in team work; collecting, recording and reporting of the monitoring data; description of pedagogical experience analysis; individual reflection and written self-reflection; analysis of reflective notes; analysis of problem situation and justification of decision; preparation of reasoned recommendations for the development of pedagogical activities; structure and content assessment of portfolio; self-assessment. The cumulative score system is used for the assessment of student achievements, in which the final grade integrates intermediate and exam grades. The weight of the individual components of the intermediate grades for the final mark is determined by the subject teacher. Student work is assessed on a ten-point scale. 2. The volume of the main field of study is 210 credits. Pedagogical study module (65 credits): General Pedagogy, General Psychology, Didactics of the subject, Educational Research, Pedagogical Practice, Inclusive and Personalized Education, Developmental and Pedagogical psychology, Final Thesis of Pedagogical Studies. Modules of teaching subjects (120 credits): Module of History (60 credits): Introduction to History Studies, History of the Medieval Europe; History of the Grand Dutchy of Lithuania I-II; History of the New Ages; Recent History; History of Modern Lithuania; Historiography Paradigms, Museum Education, Cultural Memory Research. Optional courses: Cultural Heritage Studies; Basics of Museum Science; Political Anthropology, Basics of Political Science.

Module of the Lithuanian Language and Literature (60 credits): Folklore and Children’s Literature, Old Lithuanian Literature, 19th c. Lithuanian Literature, 20th c. I half Lithuanian Literature, Lithuanian Language Development, Lithuanian Lexicology, Lithuanian Phonology and Accentology, Lithuanian Morphology and Word-Building, Lithuanian Syntax and Punctuation. Optional courses: ): Lithuanian Literature, Literature Processes in Lithuania and Diaspora (20th c. II half – 21st c.). Module of the English Language (60 credits): Practical English Course, British History and Civilization, English Phonetics, Phonology and Didactic Aspects, Text Analysis, English Morphology and Didactic Aspects, English Syntax and Didactic Aspects, English Lexicology. Optional courses: English Literature, Children Literature in English, American Literature, Contemporary Teen Literature. Module of Mathematics (60 credits): Mathematical Analysis; Algebra and Number Theory; Probability Theory; Mathematical Statistics; Geometry; Computer Statistics; Solving of School Mathematics problems; Financial Calculations; Theory of Complex Functions; Methods of Optimization. Module of Informatics (60 credits): Computer architecture and operating systems; Procedural programming; Algorithms and their complexity; Databases; Object oriented programming; Computer modelling; Computer network; Data mining; Data security; Web programming; Virtual communication; Artificial intelligence Module of Integrated Content (5 credits): Epoch I: History, Culture, Literature/ Discrete Mathematics. Individual studies (30 credits), English for Specific Purposes (5 credits), Bachelor Final Thesis (15 credits).

Specialisations: Mathematics and Informatics; English Language and Lithuanian Language and Literature; English Language and History; History and Lithuanian Language and Literature Optional courses: Module of History (10 credits): Cultural Heritage Studies; Basics of Museum Science; Political Anthropology, Basics of Political Science. Module of the Lithuanian Language and literature (10 credits): ): Lithuanian Literature, Literature Processes in Lithuania and Diaspora (20th c. II half – 21st c.). Module of the English Language (10 credits): English Literature, Children Literature in English, American Literature, Contemporary Teen Literature.

Individual studies subjects are chosen by students from the list prepared by University (30 credits). Distinctive features of a study programme: The study programme provides the opportunity to study the subjects of different educational fields and to integrate educational processes in general education schools and expand the opportunities in the labour market. Access to professional activity or further study: Access to professional activity: The graduates will be able to work as teachers of a subject (History, Lithuanian Language and Literature or English or Mathematics and Informatics) in institutions providing formal and informal education: general education schools, municipal education centres, science popularization centres, children and youth organizations, multi-functional centres. Access to further study: The graduates of the study programme will be able to continue their studies in Master degree programmes in the field of education science or in Master degree programmes corresponding to specializations. For further development of the pedagogical qualification the graduates of the programme will be offered qualification development modules as studies of the third subject.
