General Description:
Objective of a study programme:
To train a transport logistics specialist who is able to apply modern scientific and technological achievements, respond to regional specialization directions, plan, organize and control transport logistics processes by applying sustainable management aspects, to work creatively in changing conditions in the local and international market.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
• will apply the legislation regulating the activities of transport and logistics companies.
• will know the peculiarities of the local and international market, freight transport technologies.
• will know the constructions of vehicles, the principles of their operation and maintenance, will evaluate the suitability for cargo transportation.
• will know and be able to apply economic, marketing and management theories and the latest information technologies in making effective and innovative management, logistics and process management solutions for transport companies.
• will understand the potential environmental and social consequences of transport activities, know the principles of social responsibility, environmental protection, human safety and ethics and be able to apply them.
Ability to conduct research:
•will research and evaluate the development opportunities of the transport and logistics company.
•will research and analyze the performance indicators of the transport and logistics company.

• will plan, organize and control activities of the transport and logistics company.
• will manage human, material, financial resources using the latest information systems and modern management methods and aspects of sustainable management.

The student's knowledge, abilities and skills acquired while studying the subjects provided for in the study programme are assessed by reporting on the student's independent work provided for in the study programme during the allotted time and during the examination sessions. The learning outcomes achieved by the student are assessed by assigning them to the levels of achievement: excellent, typical, threshold.

The study programme is focused on the needs of the region of Southwest Lithuania. Graduates will be able to plan, organize and control supply, purchase and sale, warehousing distribution processes, manage freight conveyance processes, logistics chain operations and information flows of logistics process management. The ability to make timely business optimization decisions related to logistics activities inside and outside the company is consistently developed. Business relations with social partners, communication and cooperation with transport / logistics companies create favorable conditions for acquiring the necessary competencies for successful operation.

Having acquired the professional bachelor's degree in Business Management, a person may continue his / her studies according to the university first cycle study programmes in the field of social sciences management and business administration and, after completing additional studies or fulfilling other requirements set by the higher school, has the right to enter the second cycle master's studies.
