Summary of the Profile

General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare specialists capable of working in the field of heritage (knowledge of the heritage, publicity, preservation, use for public purposes, preservation for future generations).
Learning outcomes:
Program graduates will be able:
1. To use different heritage research methods, assess the reliability of the research, using different types of information search, bibliographic, archival, museum resources, certificates of “living history”, etc.
2. Independently carry out scientific research: to formulate goals, tasks, to use necessary research methods, to evaluate reliability of the obtained research data, to perform data analysis, to present and substantiate practical ways of solving problem issues based on research results.
3. To understand and critically evaluate the links of current events in comparison with the past, to determine the historical assumptions and their consequences in present (causal relationships) of various heritage phenomena and processes.
4. To make decisions and make evaluation, publicity and preservation of heritage and adapt the heritage to the needs of present and future society.
5. To interpret, manage and administer objects related to heritage and influence social processes in overcoming heritage.
6. Reasonably convey various knowledges gained in the studies about heritage and communicate smoothly both in oral and written form.
7. Critically, creatively respond in situations that arise in professional life, evaluate the situation and make decisions in professional activities.
8. Independently study in their professional activities and studies, organize and plan learning process, and constantly improve their professional competences.
Teaching and learning activities:
The program will be implemented in accordance with the contemporary study paradigm, where the central and active part of the study process is a student, and the studies are oriented towards independent, experiential, reflexive activities. Therefore, it is planned to use various study methods and forms (case study, final work, general discussion of works, portfolio, discussion, discussion, group tasks, individual consultations, individual tasks, information search tasks, collective tasks, creative workshops, literature / analysis of sources review, artistic problem solving and problem solving, mapping of thoughts, ideas, concepts, rational thoughts, studies of nature, lecture, review, tasks of practitioners, exercises, problem solving, problem solving tasks, project, seminar, role plays, essay, reflection, research into the use of technological innovations in creativity, sightseeing tours, creative expeditions).
Assessment methods of learning achievements:
The methods for assessing student’s achievement envisaged in the program are in line with the study methods: written papers, projects’ reports and individual work, evaluation of the competence portfolio, collegiate assessment, essay, assessment of individual and group presentations, participation in the discussion, debates, curriculum development activities evaluation, presentation and analysis of the information found in e-space, assessment of the interpretation of educational ideas, assessment of creative tasks, evaluation of practice portfolios, etc. Methods of study assessment are related to teaching methods. A ten-point criterion cumulative assessment (intermediate settlements, tests, exam, and other methods) is applied.

Study subjects (modules), practical training:
General education part - 54 credits; Subjects of the study field - 156 credits; Practicing activity volume - 18 credits; Preparation and evaluation of the final thesis - 18 credits; The elective subjects - 12 credits.
The main subjects of the study field are: European Intelligent Tradition, Cultural Heritage Industry, Cultural Heritage Theories, and Actualization of the Cultural Heritage.

Elective subjects (12 ECTS). Students have a free choice of study subjects in English and Russian.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
Arts degree programs are specific because beside the basic skills of artistic activity and analytical skills that are necessary for the analysis of contemporary art trends, students must understand topicalities of contemporary art market and must have competences that are necessary for this market. Therefore, the European heritage study program will also involve social partners in quality assurance.

Access to professional activity:
Graduates in heritage study programs can take various positions in cultural heritage, science, culture, art, education, media, culture and art politics, business, tourism, cultural and creative industries or other fields.
Access to further study:
Graduates will be able to enroll in the second study cycle -Master‘s studies.
