Summary of the Profile

Objective(s) of a study programme:

To prepare professional bachelors of art design, who would be able to create the idea of consistent and harmonious individual image based on the issues of theory of psychology, to tailor it to individual client’s needs, and to implement the idea according to the principles of integrity of internal and external beauty.
Learning outcomes:

1.1 To define fundamental characteristics of human‘s existence, the importance of aesthetics in the context of society changes and self-development and the relationship of critical, creative, analytical and systematic thinking as well as personal and common-human values.
1.2 To describe social perspective through the analysis of social phenomena by using information technologies to search, analyze, process and store the information.
1.3 To interpret an individual as a physical and spiritual unity. To identify and analyze the needs of the society and individual clients, and creatively model decisions in compliance with the ethical, psychological and legal norms.
1.4 To use correct Lithuanian and English languages in different social, cultural and professional image design environment.
2.1 To describe the development and change of art, culture and costume history.
2.2 To analyze manifestation of design artifacts in contemporary applicable art.
2.3 To apply concepts of culture, art and specialty as well as main drawing and color study expression tools in professional activities of image designer.
2.4 To define the main peculiarities of legal regulations of intellectual property, to clarify elements of art business and financial activity.
2.5 To apply theoretical knowledge evaluating specific client‘s situation, preparing art-related projects and solving practical problems of image design; to demonstrate learning skills, needed for consistent development of image design capabilities.
3.1 To name fundamental elements and processes of image concept creation and implementation.
3.2 To design client‘s image through the main elements (costume design, hair modeling, face correction and make-up, joining image elements into unity).
3.3 To plan and organize creative process implementing image projects; to present created image project, to evaluate the quality of an individual image project; to consult a client on individual image design and change.
3.4 To follow professional values and ethical norms when implementing the conception of individual image. To work independently and in teams, to communicate and collaborate.
Activities of teaching and learning:
The duration of studies is 3 years (6 semesters). Study courses are equally set out in each semester (6-7 courses each semester). Exams are regularly taken throughout all semesters. The final thesis is to be presented and defended in the 6th semester. Five practical trainings and three optional courses are projected in the program. In image design study program various forms of activities (lectures, practice, seminars, individual work with the student and independent student’s work) and methods (discussions, group work, projects, case analysis, tests, etc.) are projected, which will create conditions for the students to reach learning outcomes.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Students‘achievements are evaluated applying a 10- point system based on the Study achievements regulation. For the students‘evaluation total rating (accumulative) system is used. Learning achievements are evaluated by the formula: IW+CT+EG, where IW - independent work (20 % of the final grade), CT - control tasks (20 % of the final grade), EG – exam grade (60 % of the final grade).

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The program aims to develop holistic students‘view to a person, his/her appearance, and image. Holistic view seeks for an internal and external unity. Student is educated based on common-human competencies, spiritual Christian values, based on which students work with clients.
