General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Prepare bachelor students of pedagogy and social educators who capable of providing social assistance to child's educational well-being, safety, positive socialization and integration in society by promoting full expression of personal and civic maturity.
Learning outcomes:
- Be able to communicate and collaborate with pupils, their parents, experts, based on teacher values and attitudes of social and ethical principles, within the limits of professional competence
- Will be able to use the scientific achievements in solving problems related to the provision of social and educational support and reaching operational efficiency, responding to the modern society needs and challenges
- Will be able to follow the provisions of methodology and ethics, to plan and organize socioeducational research and use the results of research for the purposes of increasing the efficiency of the process of modernization and development
- Be able to identify and implement personal and professional learning needs and assess learning outcomes in professional development, to adapt to the changes in occupation, using ICT and other innovations;
- Students will know the provisions of the social development theory and principles and will be able to apply creatively in a particular career situation by assessing of characteristics and circumstances;
- Students will be able to assess social educational problems and needs, plan and provide social and educational support correctly by choosing the optimal and most efficient technologies for social development activities
- Will be able to collect, interpret, analyze, critically evaluate their work and the necessary information to make decisions on its basis, to substantiate their choice
- Will be able to organize, coordinate social and educational assistance to evaluate its effectiveness, correcting social education activities with regard to the results of action and efficiency
- Will be able to initiate, develop and implement educational, preventive and social projects and programs

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The main method of assessment - an examination, evaluation of practice, Bachelor's thesis - preparation and presentation of work are evaluated by grade. Cumulative assessment of the components and their ratio depends on the subject of study purpose and expected results. The final course of study is an assessment of interim settlement assessments (colloquia, individual and group assignments, social projects) and the final settlement - test evaluations

Graduates of Social Pedagogy Studies may work in the different types of secondary schools, vocational schools, child care centers, preschool organizations etc.). Social pedagogues may work in districts', cities' departments of education, also in pedagogical, psychological, child protection institutions, family support, and specialized rehabilitation centers, education and other social institutions
Access to further study:
After graduating Social pedagogy program there are possibilities to continue Master studies in social sciences in different Lithuanian and foreign universities, as well as in interdisciplinary Master's degree programs, if necessary - after taking compensating courses.
