General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare logistics specialist being able to manage the processes of freight and passenger transportation, logistics chain activity and logistics processes management information flows, apply logistics activity legislation; being able to organize activity of transport/logistics companies/business units; operate individually and creatively in changing business conditions.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
Will know the theories of fundamental outlook and humanities, processes of information, material and financial flows and of passenger and freight transportation. Will apply knowledge of rules in economics, statistics, management and business organization, as well as legal acts regulating professional transport/logistics activities.
Competences to carry out research:
Will understand logistics/transportation processes of an enterprise, will identify existing issues and foresee prospects, will ensure sustainable development on a national and international level. Will plan the activities of the enterprise or its division, possibilities for its development, will assess the environment of transport/logistics business and market trends. Will apply information systems to analyse transport and logistics processes.
Special skills:
Will manage freight and passenger transportation processes, will ensure material supply, quality and control. Will manage supply, purchase and sales, warehousing and distribution processes, while optimizing the number of supply chains, the number of stocks and warehousing costs. Will use information technologies to manage flows of logistics information. Will apply managerial and business organisation knowledge to efficiently improve transport and logistics processes.
Social skills:
Will be able to assess logistical decisions ethically, socially, economically and in terms of safety. Will be able to communicate in correct Lithuanian and foreign language.
Personal skills:
Will be able to analyse critically, provide arguments, discuss in a team orally in a written form or using other means of communication. Will comprehend the importance for individual professional development, the importance of lifelong learning and will prepare for it.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, consultations, practical tasks and course papers,
individual and team independent assignments, case analysis, practices of professional activities, study visits.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The student‘s knowledge, skills and abilities acquired while studying subjects of a study programme are assessed after completing of individual assignments performed during the semester and exam session. The achieved learning outcomes after completion of subject/module studies are assessed attributing them to the levels of achievement: excellent, typical and threshold.

Business Mathematics, Statistics, Microeconomics, Fundamentals of Business, Marketing and Sales Management, Financial Accounting and Audit, Quality Management in Transport, System of Transport, Means of Transport, Macroeconomics, Freight and Passengers Transportation, Information Systems in Logistics, Transport Economics, Transport Management and Business Organization, Logistics, Legal Regulation of Transport Activities and Activities of Customs, Forwarder and Insurance, Warehouses and Terminals, Joint Semester Project, alternatively optional modules: Transport Management (module subjects: Organization and Management of Freight Transportation, Organization and Management of Passengers Transportation, Multimodal Transportation), Management of Logistics Processes (module subjects - Control of Logistics Processes, Supply Circuit Management, Management of Warehouse Processes) – selected one of them).
Special Study Subjects:
Applied Research, optional subjects by choice of students (Psychology of Professional Communication, Transport Geography, Business Foreign Language (English, French), EU Transport Policy, Business Foreign Language (German, Russian), Personnel Management, Business Communication and Ethics, Document Management, Green Logistics – selected three of them), Final Project.

Completion of Studies:
Studies are completed by defending the Final work individually prepared by a student.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
The course aims to consistently develop skills to make timely decisions of business optimisation that are linked to logistic activities both in and out of the company. While applying legal norms of local distribution and of international logistics, graduates will be able to organise and plan processes of provision, purchasing, sales and warehouse distribution, processes of freight and passenger transportation, activities of logistics chain and information flows of logistics processes management. The programme emphasises fields of future logistics: green logistics, e-logistics. Relevant contacts with social partners, communication and cooperation with transport / logistics companies create favorable conditions for obtaining the necessary competencies and successfully operating in the labor market.
Access to professional activity or further study:
The obtained qualification provides possibility to individually organise and manage freight and passenger transportation and other processes of logistics that require personal responsibility according to local distribution and international legal norms of logistics. To make timely decisions of business optimisation, to assure business competitiveness in transport and logistics enterprises. With the Professional Bachelor's qualification degree in Business management, a person is able to work in transport and logistics sector both in state and private enterprises, establish his/her private business and seek for the higher level of academic education.
