General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To prepare mechanical engineering specialists providing them with the skills, abilities and knowledge necessary to professionally design, solve professional problems, apply the latest technologies in the field of mechanical engineering.
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge and its application:
Will know general regularities and laws of natural sciences and mathematics in order to understand the fundamental basics of Mechanical engineering study field. Will get acquainted with the most important concepts of Mechanical engineering study field, will be able to understand their content. Will have the key knowledge in Mechanical engineering study field that are important in practice. Will know the context of problems and their solutions of adjacent study fields. Will be able to apply knowledge for solving problems of Mechanical engineering study fields and creatively apply familiar methods. Will be able to apply knowledge while analysing engineering tasks and choosing the right methods for experimental and manufacturing facilities to tackle them. Will be able to apply analytical and modelling methods for solution of engineering problems in mechanical engineering study field.
Competences to carry out research:
Will be able to find proper professional information using data bases and other scientific and engineering information resources. Will be able to carry out necessary tests for solving engineering problems, process their results and present practical conclusions of these results. Will have skills to operate technological equipment, used in mechanical engineering study field.
Special skills:
Will understand and be able to apply various design methodology. Will be able to combine theoretical and applied knowledge while solving engineering issues. Will understand ethical, environmental and commercial considerations of engineering activity. Will understand operational principles of engineering activity, will know the main requirements for human and fire safety. Will be able to select engineering solutions, as well as means and equipment needed to implement them. Will know to apply engineering knowledge while formulating and carrying out the design tasks in accordance with the laid down requirements.
Social skills:
Will be able to solve engineering challenges individually and in a team. Will know how to communicate with engineering specialists and general public.
Personal skills:
Will comprehend the importance of the impact of engineering decisions on society and environment, will obey the norms of professional ethics and engineering activities, understand responsibility for the results of engineering activities.
Will be aware of the main aspects of project implementation and management on the level of engineering activities.
Will comprehend the importance of individual lifelong learning and will prepare for it.
Teaching and learning activities:
Lectures, consultations, practical tasks and course papers, individual work, practices of professional activities. Students accomplish practical tasks individually or in groups.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The student‘s knowledge, skills and abilities acquired while studying subjects of a study programme are assessed after completing of individual assignments performed during the semester and exam session. The achieved learning outcomes after completion of subject/module studies are assessed attributing them to the levels of achievement: excellent, typical and threshold.

Foreign Language, Professional Lithuanian, Sustainable Environment and Human Safety and alternatively optional subjects (Sociology, Psychology, Sustainable Development – selected one of them).

Mathematics, Physics, Computer Modelling, Materials Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics, Applied Theories, Technical Measurements, Electrotechnics and Electronics, Cutting Processes and Cutters, Project Management, Applied Research, Technological Devices, Equipment Design, Machine Production Technology, Production Automation, Mechatronics, CNC Devices Programming, Designing of Computer Technologies, Innovative Technologies, Design of Enterprises.
Special Study Subjects:
Law, optional subjects by choice of students (Welding Technology, Composite Materials and Coverings, Ergonomics, Basics of Integrated Manufacturing, Repair Technologies, Quality Assurance and Management, Diagnostic and Monitoring, Interdisciplinary Project, Science Workshops Project – selected three of them).
Practices:
Technological Practice 1, Technological Practice 2, Industrial Practice, Final Practice.
Completion of Studies:
Studies are completed by defending the Final work individually prepared by a student.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
The quality of studies of the study programme is assured by new laboratories, equipped with modern facilities and cooperation of the college with business enterprises. HAAS technical training centre was established in cooperation with international company HAAS AUTOMATION EUROPE and social partner JSC ABPLANALP EGINEERING. Innovative teaching programme was created during participation in the international project „Certificate of CNC machine tools operator for enlarging the competitiveness of the specialist “, that enabled students to obtain competences complying with European level requirements. HAAS AE provides the best students with scholarships.
Students perform tasks of experimental development, participate in international projects and in international exchange programme “Erasmus+”: go to study or for professional activities internships to the other countries of European Union.
Access to professional activity or further study:
Graduate can work in such areas of professional activities as designing and engineering analysis of a product, designing of mechanical technologies manufacturing and repair processes, tasks solution for maintenance and technical supervision of technologic equipment, designing equipment, analysis of manufacturing enterprises development and other engineering jobs involving metals and their products, in the machine and equipment manufacturing and repair enterprises.
Graduate can continue his/her studies having chosen university study programmes in the field of engineering Mechanics.
