Ability to apply modern engineering methods in designing water management, air purification, waste management facilities, ability to suggest engineering solutions when solving environmental problems, ability to demonstrate a motivated approach to their profession, ability to formulate and reasonably justify decisions.
Personal and social abilities:
Ability to work in a team, communicate with environmental engineering and other specialists, reasonably defend own opinion, proactively take decisions in the responsible manner, choose the most suitable technological solutions to solve specific tasks.
Ability to think critically, to work independently and creatively, to understand responsibility for the results of own activities, to independently learn and plan the learning process, to continue lifelong learning, ability to comply with professional ethics and standards of engineering activity, to understand holistically and evaluate the impact of engineering solutions on society and the environment.
Activities of teaching and learning:
In the study programme student-oriented training is carried out, in which the student's independent work is encouraged based on both individual tasks and group works. Training is carried out using active learning methods. Lectures, seminars, discussions, group work, practical exercises, project development etc.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The study results are ranked in a ten-point evaluation system. The main methods of assessing the subject (module) are examination or defence of an independent work (project). Studies are completed by evaluating the independent work. When determining the final grade of the subject, the cumulative assessment system, which consists of the sum of the arithmetic mean of intermediate grades and the assessment of the exam multiplied by the weighted coefficients provided to them, is applied.
Framework:
Study subjects (modules), practical training:
The results of the study program are implemented through study subjects in the study process, which can be found on the website www.vgtu.lt. The program provides for two practices: educational and professional activities (15 cr.), Bachelor's final thesis (15 cr.). Two free choices (6 cr.). The duration of the professional practice is 12 weeks. During the practise engineering working skills are improved, students are acquainted with the future work environment, learn to carry out researches and apply the results in practise.
The main study field consists of 165 credits. The subjects studied are environmental chemistry, hydraulics, protection of the atmosphere, water protection, waste management and reuse, environmental informatics, soil and ecosystem protection, Water supply and sewerage of the buildings, Pumps and Pumping Stations, Water supply and sewerage networks, Water Treatment, Integrated Design of Buildings etc.
Specialisations:

Optional courses:
It is possible to freely choose subjects from any other field of studies (at least 6 credits)
Distinctive features of a study programme:
Students have the opportunity to carry out professional practice in partner organizations in foreign countries.
Access to professional activity or further study:
Access to professional activity:
Graduates of the study programme can successfully work in the highest- level state institutions, in regional environmental protection departments, municipalities, waste management centres, water supply and wastewater disposal companies, energy and industrial enterprises, design and environmental consulting companies.
Access to further study:
A graduate specialist acquires all the necessary knowledge for further engineering studies needed for the Master's Degree studies - both at VGTU and in other Lithuanian or foreign universities.
