General Description:
Objectives of a study programme:
To prepare a business specialist, who is able to adapt to the changing hospitality business environment, modern labor market requirements, who is able to conduct business situations analysis, to plan, to organize and control hotels, restaurants and their departments, to choose accommodation according to the needs of the guests, to organize guests service in restaurants and bars, to ensure the quality of the work, to manage material and financial resources, to communicate with guests and partners in Lithuanian and foreign languages, to manage changes, to establish a hospitality company and to lead it.
Learning outcomes:
To improve and develop abilities according to personal preferences and needs.
To apply management and business environment cognitive methods, to manage human resources.
To apply hospitality standards, manage hotel and restaurant services.
To analyze the hospitality business market, to evaluate the business environment and to plan work.
To manage and to control financial and material resources and to manage changes.
To analyze and to fulfill the guests needs, prepare and implement hospitality projects.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Will be used creativity-enhancing methodology “Creativity platform”, tasks using “Fidelio” and “Chef Files' hospitality e-programs, case studies, discussions, lectures, seminars, simulation of situations, file method, idea generation session, individual and group tasks, literary studies, comparative analysis, excursions, simulation, analysis of advanced experience, reflections.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment: interim tests (written and/or oral), reflections, essays, independent work, portfolios (collections of work), exam or project.

Optional module. A student may choose proposed optional subjects offered by Vilniaus kolegija/UAS. Optional subjects credit amount equals to 10 credits.

Meetings with hotel and restaurant business representatives, study tours for hotels and restaurants;

Graduates will be able to work as an managers of hotel and restaurant service companies, a receptionists, a sales or booking managers, to plan events, to lead the work of the company's departments, to establish a hospitality company (cafe, restaurant, rural tourism homestead, hotel, etc.) and lead its work.
Access to further study:
Graduates of the study programme can continue their bachelor and master level studies at universities in Lithuania and abroad.
