General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: Image design study programme aims to educate Image design specialists who can analyse and respond to the needs of market; to form the customer’s image; to create, realize and present image project to an individual person or group; to organize the activities of an image designer in cooperation with specialists from other fields and to take into account the latest technological achievements. Learning outcomes: 1. Knows the main concepts of image design, its historical and contemporary evolution, peculiarities and links with other art areas. 2. Knows the principles of management, accounting, law, and requirements for human safety related to professional activities. 3. Able to analyse, critically assess and generalise information for implementing creative ideas. 4. Able to conduct research on image design demand assessing market needs. 5. Able to create and visualise image design ideas, experiment considering customer’s need. 6. Able to plan the stages of image design project anticipating the directions of the activities and resources. 7. Able to design an image for an individual or group of individuals as a harmonious whole. 8. Communicates in correct state and foreign languages when presenting creative ideas and(or) projects using visual communication and digital technologies, presenting the portfolio of creative works. 9. Able to work in a team, undertaking the responsibility for one’s personal performance as well as for the performance of the subordinates. 10. Able to implement image design project cooperating with the specialists of other fields, perceiving moral responsibility for creative activities. 11. Able to study independently, make decisions, plan, and reflect personal activities perceiving the importance of lifelong learning. Activities of teaching and learning: Lectures, presentations, discussions, seminars, demonstrations, practical assignments, group work, literature study, project preparation, etc. Methods of assessment of learning achievements:

Learning achievements are assessed using accumulative assessment system. Knowledge and skills are assessed by ten grades scale. The final score may consist of several components, collected in the study process (interim reports, self-study papers, examination or project). Study subject teacher determines accumulative assessment of the subject components and their values of the coefficients depending on the complexity of the subject. Study subject teacher determines and informs the students at the beginning of the term about the impact (percent) of each component (task, work) for final assessment and formulates assessment criteria for each intermediate assignment. Framework: Study subjects (modules), practical training: Volume of general subjects of collegial studies consists of 15 credits: Philosophy, Foreign Language 1 (English) Level B2 / Foreign Language 1 (English) Level C1, Foreign Language 2 (English) Level B2 / Foreign Language 2 (English) Level C1, Aesthetics, Oral and Written Communication. Volume of subjects of the basic study field consists of 141 credit: Art and Costume History, Basics of Associative Composition and Design, Speciality Drawing 1, Materials Science and Basics of Sewing Constructions, Applied Software 1, Applied Software 2, Personality and Social Psychology, Image Composition 1, Speciality Drawing 2, Colour Science, Fashion History, Image Composition 2, Painting, Hairstyle, Make – up Composition and Techniques 1, Fashion Photography Development, Basics of Artworks Analysis, Image Psychology, Wardrobe Formation, Hairstyle, Make – up Composition and Techniques 2, Visual Communication and Research, Image Design Directions, Human Safety. Volume of professional practices consists of 30 credits (Internship of the Basics of Image Composition and Photography, Speciality Project, Management of Art Projects and Basics of Practical Research Methodology, Final Internship) and the Professional Bachelor Thesis consists of 12 credits. Specialisations: - Optional courses: One can deepen the knowledge in a chosen field of studies by selecting specialized subjects of the study field and choose subjects from the general list of free elective study subjects suggested in the college Study Management System (STS). Volume of other study courses consists of 18 credits. Business Creation and Development, Business Law, Fashion Communication, Fashion Marketing. Volume of free elective study subjects consists of 6 credits. Image Design study programme offers the following free elective study subjects for the students of other study programmes of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences: Psychology of Advertising / Career

Planning, Event Organization / Etiquette and Basics of Protocol. Distinctive features of a study programme: Study programme of Image Design is oriented towards systematic, holistic education of the specialist by linking the theoretical knowledge of design subjects and the knowledge about arts and management with its practical application as well as developing artistic and aesthetical taste. This is ensured by the unique study environment, such as Arts Academy of Kaunas University of Applied Sciences where students study subtleties of arts and exhibitions, workshops, symposiums, competitions, international conferences, artistic educational projects are organized, etc. Access to professional activity or further study: Access to professional activity: After completing Image Design study programme, a graduate will be able to work individually or in a team, with individual people, in artistic projects, in presentations of fashion designers collections, for concert organizations, theaters, TV and film studios, advertising agencies, beauty salons and studios, establish their own service company. Access to further study: After completion of this study programme, further studies can be continued in any Lithuanian or European higher education institution with academic credits transfer.
