General Description:
Objectives of a study programme:
To prepare a tourism specialist corresponding to the needs of a modern labor market, to work in the tourism industry, who knows the specifics of the tourism business, is capable to solve problems independently and to adapt in a constantly changing business environment, to provide higher college education that allows graduates to successfully compete in the tourism market.
Learning outcomes:
To improve and develop abilities according to personal preferences and needs.
To communicate and collaborate in a national and intercultural business environment.
To organize, plan and manage the activities of a tourism company.
To analyze business environment by adopting appropriate solutions for tourism business.
Will implement the modern principles of sustainable development in business.
To apply theoretical knowledge in assessing the tourism business and manage change.
To create and introduce to the market for tourism products.
Will manage tourism services and sales processes.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Creativity-enhancing methodology “Creativity platform”, tasks using “Amadeus”, “Fidelio”, “Tez Tour” tourism hospitality programs, case studies, discussions, interactive lectures, seminars, simulation of situations, independent work, individual and group tasks, literature studying, comparative analysis, idea generation sessions, excursions, simulation, analysis of advanced experience, reflections
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Cumulative assessment: interim tests (oral or/and written), reflections, portfolio (collections of work), independent work, exam or project.

Optional module. A student may choose proposed optional subjects offered by Vilniaus kolegija/UAS. Optional subjects credit amount equals to 10 credits.

24 hours of real work experience.
Resolving real private and public sector problems.
Cooperation with the Lithuanian Tourism Association and the largest tourism business enterprises;
During the studies, students work with IT systems that are used in the tourism business: Amadeus, Fidelio, Tez Tour reservation systems, so the acquired skills are real and easily adaptable.
Methodology developed by Denmark scientists “Creative Platform” is used for creative idea generation sessions;
Students can choose studies in Lithuanian or English languages.
Distance learning opportunities for part-time students.
Access to professional activity or further study:
Access to professional activity:
Graduates will be able to work as a sales or product managers in tourism service companies and their departments, to make travel products and sell them, to be a guides (you can get a certificate during studies) or a travel managers, as well as to work as a public servants in a tourist information center as a customer service managers. Graduates will be able to lead a units of the companies, create your own business, successfully work in Lithuanian and foreign tourism companies.
Access to further study:
Graduates of the study programme can continue their bachelor and master level studies at universities in Lithuania and abroad.
