General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
The objective of a study programme is to learn highly qualified information systems professionals that have knowledge on information system development and deployment, also have understanding of information systems and their role for business. Study programme also aims to enable students to gain a systematic approach to information systems and technologies, to analyze business needs, to conceptualize business process, to develop information systems, to deploy them, to modify and configure according to the business requirements, also to ensure high quality of work and to solve the complex problems and make decisions independently
Learning outcomes:
Knowledge
Knowledge on information systems analysis and development methods, requirements engineering, business process modeling and simulation.
Knowledge on functional and object-oriented programming paradigms, programming languages and techiques, knowledge on data structures and algorithms,.
Knowledge on databases and DBMS, data warehouse, data mining and vizualization, user interface and internet technologies
Knowledge of fundamental, social and human sciences, required to understand real world and to achieve professional goals and competences.

Ability to carry out research
Ability to evaluate knowledge needs in an application domain, to understand complexity of the problem, to determine implementability of information systems
Ability to collect information and to apply information analysis methods, to select and to use quantitative and qualitative research methods seeking to make decisions

Special abilities
Ability to analyze application area, business processes and users’ needs, and to define information system requirements
Ability to make information systems design and implementation applying different systems development and modeling methods, techniques and tools.
Ability to develop and administrate databases, to optimize queries, to design and develop data warehouses, to use data mining methods and analyze result in business context.
Programing ability using structural and object oriented language, apply programming frameworks, ability to design and develop information system interface using different tools

Ability of working in team, communication skills, participation in discussion, making suggestions, ability clearly express a personal position and defend it, respect opinions of others
Ability to share responsibility, to accept group ideas, working with the colleagues that have different background, to present ideas and results, to maintain professional discussion.

Ability to write and present information and his ideas orally, to prepare technical documentation, to pursue different project activities.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Lecture, laboratory work, practical exercises, literature analysis, case study, discussion, simulation, guest lecture, programming, team project, team exercises.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Learning achievements and the student’s knowledge and skills assessment is performed as follows: writing methods (writing surveys, tests, control works, colloquiums, etc.), practical methods (exams, reports, etc.), individual and group presentations, analysis of papers, portfolio study analysis, interview, presentation and reporting of laboratory and course works, individual or team project report and presentation, practice reports, thesis and its defense.

Bachelor Graduation Thesis are planned in 7 and 8 semester.

3 internships are performed in 2, 3, 6 semester. Total duration of the internships is 400 hours. Practical skills also are formed during the laboratory and practice works, by performing practical tasks and applying specialized software and hardware equipment. Students have opportunity to perform internship both in Lithuanian companies and foreign companies via the Erasmus+ program

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The study programme was developed based on ACM recommendations, great attension is paid to practical skills gathering. It is possible to select full-time studies or part-time (distance learning) studies.
