Objective(s) of a study programme:
The aim of Fashion Technologies and Business study programme is to prepare a specialist who is able to analyse the needs of a fashion products (clothing, accessories, etc.) market, assessing the opportunities of a sewing enterprise to produce demanded products, analyzing and selecting clothing models, making clothing patterns for typical figure type, producing them from different materials at optimal costs applying the newest technology, search for the results of industrial activity and plan activity development, launch a personal business.
Learning outcomes:
1. Information management and communication
• To combine theoretical and applied knowledge in solving technological problems.
• To evaluate the properties of embroidery materials and apply to the design of clothing patterns.
2. Ability to perform research
• To search, analyze and organize information in the management of information technology.
• To carry out research of the clothing assortment market and evaluate the results.
3. Special skills
• To plan, organize and implement tasks assigned at the technological level to apply business development procedures and prepare a clothing business plan.
• To analyze fashion trends.
• To study and evaluate peculiarities of human body forms.
• To select and draw clothing sketches.
• To construct basic drawings for clothing of different assortments.
• To perform structural modeling.
• To organize materials order and quality check.
• To prepare the preparation documentation.
• To provide rational clothing production methods.
• To select technological equipment for clothing production.
• To apply different clothing manufacturing techniques.
• To plan and organize production processes of the imitative company (unit).

• To communicate in regular English and at least one of the foreign languages.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Are focused on development of general and special competences and creativity education: lectures, professional practice, discussions, individual and group project works, public presentations and defence, information search and systematization and etc.
Methods of assessment of learning outcomes:
Evaluation of learning outcomes is performed applying the cumulative assessment during the entire semester and exam session. Learning outcomes are evaluated through the intermediate settlements: test, project, project public presentation and defence, individual creative tasks, seminars, term papers, practice reports, seminars, exams and final project.

This qualification enables the graduate to work in manufacture of fashion product (clothing, accessories, etc.) and service enterprises as a technologist, pattern maker, department manager, technologist manager, to launch a personal apparel manufacturing business.
Access to professional activity or further study:
Students can accomplish clothing projection applying special computer programmes, arrange construction technological documentation, organise production, manage employees, develop clothing business.
Acquired skills allow opportunities to continue studies at Lithuanian and foreign universities (arts, technological and social sciences study programs directions).
