Summary of the Profile

Future forestry specialists study applied mathematics, statistics, general chemistry, a foreign language, information technologies, business economy, management, environmental protection, plant anatomy and morphology, fundamentals of law, soil science, fundamentals of husbandry, plant systematics, etc.

Practical studies are conducted in five stages: cognitive, afforestation, forest measurement, formation of plantations, preparation of wood of cutting areas and other practice in a training forest enterprise. During the final practice, acquired theoretical and practical knowledge is consolidated in a future work place — forest companies and private forest owners’ cooperatives. The duration of practical studies is 26 weeks. During these studies, forest planting, growing, protection skills, etc., are consolidated and improved.

The forestry study programme is aimed at people who have finished secondary education and seek to be forest engineers.
