Summary of the Profile

Objective(s) of a study programme:

The main aim of the Event Business Management study programme is to prepare innovatively and creatively thinking event business managers having sufficient knowledge and abilities to organise and develop successfully event business, able to respond quickly to changing business and cultural environments, take the most appropriate decisions as well as to learn independently and develop their professional qualifications.
Learning outcomes:

1. Will be able to develop and implement business establishment and development plans; manage material, financial, human and other resources.
2. Will be able to prepare cultural activity programmes and projects, plan and organise events.
3. Will be able perform the advertising and promotion of services and/or organised events.
4. Will be able to apply in his/her professional activities modern information and communication technologies.
5. Will be able to communicate professionally with specialists in his/her area and society in his/her mother tongue and Foreign Language.
6. Will be able to work efficiently in workgroups and teams as well as comply with the principles professional ethics.
7. Using internal and external data sources, students will be able to analyse and assess the situation of business and (or) creative industry markets as well as the perspectives thereof.
8. Applying quantitative and qualitative research methods, students will be able to identify and analyse problems in event planning and organising business and (or) cultural activities, phenomena and processes happening in an organisation and its environment.
Activities of teaching and learning:

Implementing the study programme, traditional and innovative study methods are used. The study forms usually used to convey knowledge are lectures, practical training and seminars. Various methods are used in them: theoretical lecture, case study (task simulation), analysis of situations and explanation, solving of tasks, research interviews, individual research, etc. Ability to carry out researches, special and social abilities are educated organising practical and project, creative, research applied nature works, which are performed by teamwork, working in groups or independently. Such methods as debates, discussions, reflexion are applied to educate personal abilities.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The cumulative assessment of learning outcomes in scores has been applied. Subject assessment is performed using the following formulas: the assessment of a differentiated credit consists of the derivative of the cumulative assessment score (tests, control works and etc.), exam assessment consist of cumulative assessment (tests, control works and etc.) and exam scores, assessment of the report on practice: the final score of the assessment of the students’ practices consists of the assessment given by the leader of the practice, the assessment of the report on practice and the score received for the defense of the practice.

Scope of the basic study subjects of course of studies in credits – 135.
Basics of Entrepreneurship, Business Communication Ethics, Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Culture Politics, Application of Multimedia Technologies/ Webpage Development, etc.
Practical training: Practice of Management Activities, Event Organising Enterprise Operation Practice, Final Practice.

Optional Subjects (3 subjects, 9 ECTS) – 3 Subjects, which may be chosen from the general list of optional subjects taught in the College: Foreign Language in Business, Communication Psychology, Protection of Intellectual Property, Labour Law, Computerised Accounting, Computer Graphics, Personal Career Management, Personal Finance Management etc.
