General Description:
Objective(s) of the study programme:
The aim of Business Management study programme is to train a business manager who has entrepreneurial skills and is able to act independently and creatively under changing market conditions; apply the theories of economics and business management as well as the national and international legislation governing organisation of business; plan, analyse and organise the performance of business enterprises using modern scientific achievements and technologies; solve contemporary business problems; follow generally accepted ethical and moral norms.
Learning outcomes:
Study programme graduates:
1. will apply the theoretical models of economics, management and organising business in the national and international business environments;
2. will apply the legislation and normative documents that govern business in practice;
3. will define the aims of the market research, choose research methods and predict the anticipated outcomes;
4. will analyse and assess business environment, market trends and opportunities for establishing/ developing entrepreneurial business as well as propose reasonable solutions;
5. will apply scientific innovation to rationally manage the resources of a business enterprise;
6. will plan, analyse and organise the performance of a business enterprise in continuously changing environments;
7. will apply integral principals and methods of marketing;
8. will apply the principles of business ethics, cross-cultural communication and socially responsible business as well as the moral norms in professional activities; will communicate and cooperate in teams;
9. will use modern information technologies and communicate in various business environments in native and foreign languages;
10. will demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, autonomy and creativity when making managerial decisions;
11. will plan career and trends of self-education; understand the importance of responsibility for the personal performance; study individually in the changing field of the professional activity.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, case studies, discussions, debates, analysis of video materials, educational projects in business enterprises, development and presentation of integrated projects, group assignments, video-situation analysis, role-play, etc.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The System of Accumulative Assessment is used. Methods of assessment: tests, reports, integrated projects, exams, report on a case study and its presentation, report on a video situation and its presentation, project report, presentation of individual assignments, portfolio method, individual/group integrated self-study assignment, presentation of idea mapping, group project presentation, presentation of individual self-study assignments, essay, final thesis.

Study subjects (105 credits): Business Communication (Business Foreign Language I; IT Communication Systems; Business Language and Documentation Management; Communication Psychology), Fundamentals of Business (Business Philosophy; Entrepreneurship; Business Law), Economics (Microeconomics and Macroeconomics; Applied Mathematics; Economic Statistics),Business Management (Management, Marketing; Accounting and Finance I), Enterprise Resource Management (Economics of Enterprise, Human Resource Management, IT Business Management Systems, Accounting and Finance II), International Business (International Marketing and Trade; Fundamentals of the EU Internal Market; Negotiation Management; Business Foreign Language II), Integrated Marketing Communications (Marketing Planning and Management; Brand Management; Marketing Research; Consumer Behaviour).
1.2. Professional Internship (Professional Internship in a Simulation Enterprise; Professional Internship in a Business Enterprise) (30 credits);

Distinctive features of a study programme:
The programme reflects the market needs; is based on a modular principle, integrates practical and self-study assignments; anticipates one semester internship in business companies; is orientated towards problem teaching, formation of the systemic approach for the student, socially responsible and ethical business; is able to offer study and practice opportunities abroad. The study programme teachers are specialists with practical experience in business.
Access to professional activity or further study:
Access to professional activity:
The graduates will be able to establish and expand their own business or work in small and medium business enterprises, in the departments of marketing, customer service, project coordination/management, quality assurance, e. commerce, international relations, communication, procurement, product development, and business development.
Access to further study:
The graduates are entitled to a credit transfer system for entering the first cycle university study programmes, and upon completion of complementary university studies exercise the right to enter the second cycle university studies. The continuation of studies is possible in the study programmes of management, business and economics study fields of the social sciences study area in Lithuanian and/or foreign universities.
