Summary of the Profile

Objective(s) of the study programme:
The objective of Automotive Business Management study programme is to prepare an automotive business specialist able to understand, analyse and assess processes of functioning of business organisations and cognitive tools of automotive business, capable of making decisions in automotive business administration, having a broad, creative and critical thinking, constantly seeking personal and professional development through lifelong learning.
Learning outcomes:
The learning outcomes of Automotive Business Management Study Programme develop competences designed for complex automotive business management specialist activities possessing diversity of objectives and content. As various measures and methods are applied in addressing challenges in different activity areas of automotive business, such activity performance requires the application of a broad economics, finance, law, automotive business, management theoretical knowledge, based on new research and applied research results and necessary to implement innovations.
Study results of Automotive Business Management Study Programme include the abilities to plan activities according to the objectives, to analyze and record performance results and report to coordinators, to adjust the activities in accordance with the operational analysis of the results and recommendations of experts and to carry out various project activities, to adjust to permanent and usually unpredictable changes, which are determined by knowledge and technological advancements in the field of automotive business management, to improve and expand knowledge in the field of economics, finance, law, automotive business, management and to learn independently, having self-assessed the performance.
Graduates of Automotive Business Management Study Programme will:
know automotive industry history and development trends, car design and operating principles, automotive maintenance, know and understand automotive business features, marketing principles, concepts, consumer behaviour determinants, and be able to understand and evaluate the social, economic and legal factors that affect automotive business management performance;
be able to apply the car valuation techniques and give their well-argued, reasonable, impartial opinion on a car, be able to plan, organise and coordinate the automotive business, develop business development plans and organise their implementation, using opportunities offered by information technology, systems and databases; be able to analyse and evaluate current events of automotive business and its environment; apply business performance, marketing and other investigation techniques; creatively apply management tools in organisation and management; know how to use control and quality management techniques in automotive business;
responsibly, effectively and ethically apply their personal, social and professional skills in a multicultural environment; effectively use their personal potential when creating and making use of the opportunities, and while pursuing continuous personal improvement.

Activities of teaching and learning:
Teaching and learning activities of Automotive Business Management Study Programme needed to achieve the expected learning outcomes include contact hours (i.e. time when a student is supervised by academic staff), self-directed study (i.e. time of individual work, mandatory practices/internships, preparation for the assessment and time necessary for the assessment itself).
Various teaching and learning activities are used to achieve the learning outcomes of Automotive Business Management Study Programme: theoretical study outcomes apply knowledge imparting informative study methods: explanation, demonstration (in this case, teacher work is very important, knowledge is based on research and insights); practical study outcomes involve such methods as discussions, group work, individual work, and case analysis, problem based learning, problem solving, experiment, making reports and reading, solving real problems during students' projects, insights and development of scenarios (teaching/learning is performed using laboratory practice and learning in the workplace, and is based on the student's independent work, problem solving, tasks, group work); for achievement of moral learning outcomes exercises of self-assessment and role-play are involved, students’ personal experiences are analyzed, etc.

Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Taking into account the assessment criteria specified for Automotive Business Management Study Programme and its elements for determining whether a student achieved results are consistent with the learning outcomes, the following assessment methods are applied: oral assessment methods; interviewing methods (frontal oral interview, an individual oral interview); Methods of presentations (presentation (public speech, presentation)); written assessment methods (abstract, surveys, reviews, essays, study diaries and journals, making bibliographic lists); graphic and visual assessment methods (maps of ideas and concept, poster presentations and demonstrations of works); cumulative and integrated assessment methods (folder or portfolio method, an individual case study, projects).
