Objective(s) of a study programme:

2. Develop a cattle veterinary specialist, having livestock veterinarian professional qualifications and capable of properly, based on clinical experience and the new science, to diagnose, treat beef and dairy cattle diseases and to organize prevention.
3. Prepare a specialist who can advise farmers of cattle keeping and care, and thus increase the competitiveness of livestock farms. To evaluate the health of the herd of cattle, and properly organize the accommodation and care of correction.
4. Raised the ability to maintain high professional theoretical and practical training is constantly updating and enhancing professional skills.
5. Develop a veterinary specialist, having cattle veterinary surgeons professional qualifications, having sufficient experience in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of all ages and types of sick cattle production, capable to apply the acquired knowledge in order to better results, rationally applying modern diagnostic and surgical methods of treatment, capable of operation urgent case of extreme conditions
Learning outcomes:
Cattle veterinarian sugeaon must be aware of the Republic of Lithuania, the Lithuanian State Food and Veterinary Service and the European Union laws, regulations and other directive documents regulating the work of the veterinarian. Follow veterinary medical ethical standards, adhere to good veterinary medical practice, will be able to choose and carry out the necessary tests to be able to take samples and prepared for analysis, to be able to use information resources to search a virtual environment, be able to organize and plan, including the time, constantly improve lifelong learning

To know and be able to analyze cows and heifers reproduction situation , insemination and andrological investigative techniques. To be able to diagnose digestive, respiratory, support apparatus, metabolic, infectious and invasive diseases of animals. Identify the possible causes of diseases treatment and prevention plans. Able to explain the owner of the patient's prognosis and arranged on the basis of its assessment of the economic expediency of treatment principles.
To be able to recognize an emergency requiring the animals to their first veterinary assistance.
To be able test methods of cattle abdominal cavity, cattle orthopedic research methodology and functional nail cutting technique.
To be able to collect targeted comprehensive medical history and interpret it, to be able to analyze clinical symptoms and syndromes, synthesize, evaluate the diseased animal's clinical condition and its severity level to create the necessary, but rational diagnostic test plan. To be able to assess their competence boundaries cattle veterinary medicine and adjacent specialties, act requiring urgent situations, conditions and adapt to them, to act independently, communicate and work as a team.
