General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
To train a manager for a sports organisation, who is able to analyse the possibilities of the activities of sports organisations applying the principles of leadership and good management in practice, knows the basic methods of organising and managing sports activities, and is able to evaluate and develop the sports business environment and services provided.
Learning outcomes:
1. Able to define the basic concepts and principles of management and understands the theories and functions of management, applying the knowledge to the practical operation of a sustainable organisation or its division.
2. Able to define and analyse the internal and external environment of a sports organisation and its divisions and apply knowledge of economics, marketing, accounting and human resources management to monitor and optimise managerial processes.
3. Able to conduct applied research, apply a variety of research methods, collect and analyse data, and make decisions to solve sport management issues.
4. Able to initiate and administer project activities in the sports industry, evaluating the resources and financial sustainability of the organisation and complying with legal requirements.
5. Able to coordinate material, human and financial resources to ensure the effectiveness of the organisation.
6. Able to collect, systematise and analyse data on the performance of a sports organisation or its divisions and, having evaluated the results, propose socially responsible management solutions for the organisation or its divisions.
7. Able to analyse and evaluate the specifics, processes and perspectives of the sports industry.
8. Able to manage relations with customers using relevant information and communication tools and methods.
9. Able to work individually and as part of a team, communicate and cooperate in the national and international professional environment.
10. Able to express themselves persuasively and fluently, both orally and in writing, and represent the organisation appropriately in Lithuania and internationally.
11. Able to manage operational communication processes in compliance with the principles of ethics, sustainable development and social responsibility.
12. Able to plan personal career, analyse problems by applying creativity, critical thinking and building positive relationships with colleagues.
13. Able to integrate knowledge, skills and abilities to propose solutions to the challenges facing the organisation.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, seminars, discussions, debates, individual and group practical exercises, self-written papers, video views, open to the public the results of presentations, workshops plants, design and research works, case (problem situations) analysis, preparation of articles, integrated tasks.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The System of Accumulative Assessment is used. Methods of assessment: individual/group integrated projects or/and course/ research papers, tests, reports, exams, report on a case study and its presentation, report on a video situation and its presentation, project report, presentation of individual assignments, portfolio method, individual/group integrated self-study assignment, observation of a task performance, project group presentation, presentation of individual self-study assignments, final thesis.

General Module of Collegial studies – 15 credits:
Business Communication (Professional Foreign Language I; Basics of Document and IT Management; Language Culture and Public Speaking; Communication Psychology).
Study field modules - 150 credits:

Basics of Harmonious Personality (Social Responsibility; Sports' History; Healthy Lifestyle; Career Management); Economics (Microeconomics and Macroeconomics; Applied Mathematics and Statistics; Basics of Applied Research); Management (Basics of Management; Management of the Quality of a Sports Services; Human Resource Management); Sports Marketing (Marketing; Basics of Entrepreneurship; Professional Foreign language II; Information Communication Technologies); Management Of Sports Organisation (Establishing and Managing Sports Organisation; Sports Law; Accounting and Finance); Management Of Sports Media (Communication and Image Management; Brand Management; E-sports Management), Sports Projects (Cluster Creation and Management; Volunteering Management; Organisation of Sports Events; Professional Foreign Language III).
2. Professional Internship in a Sports Organization (30 Credits).

Distinctive features of a study programme:
Sport Management study programme distinguishes from other similar programmes by its modular framework, integrated modules as well as integrated practical and individual tasks. The programme is oriented towards a manager’s targeted activity segment – sports industry. The good practice of the future specialist is guided in accordance with the principles of the Olympic Charter.

Access to professional activity:
The graduates of Sport Management study programme
will be qualified and competent to work as managers in the sports industry: sports clubs, companies involved in producing/selling sports equipment as well as international, branch-specific and general organizations. Furthermore, they will be fully skilled in organizing sports events, representing sports people (acting as agents) as well as establishing and managing sports organizations.
Access to further study:
The graduates are entitled to a credit transfer system for entering level one university study programmes, they can choose Master programmes. The continuation of studies is possible in the study programmes in the field of management and business in Lithuanian and/or foreign universities.
