General Description:
Objective(s) of a study programme:
Develop a highly trained accountants who are able to organize and manage the entity's accounting, control of economic processes to account for, analyze the entity's financial and economic performance.
Learning outcomes:
1. Will have professional knowledge of accounting and will be able to apply it when determining specific issues and solving problems in the field of accounting at organisation level.
2. Will know basic theories embracing external and internal factors of organisation environment, as well as general principles of economics, management, finance, and accountancy sciences, and will understand peculiarities of their application in practical activities in the field of accounting.
3. Will know and understand the structure of financial system, types and purposes of financial markets, functions of finance and accounting in the public and private sectors, principles of financial management theories, and will be able to plan their implementation opportunities.
4. Will know and follow the legislation of accounting and audit procedure, keep to principles of accountancy and financial control, follow civil and industrial safety regulations, will apply accounting methods and techniques.
5. Will be able to collect and analyse data necessary to solve problems on professional activity and innovation in accounting, with application of modern information technologies.
6. Will be able to carry out empirical research, to apply effective methods of investigation and solution models by purposefully collecting accounting data at organisation level.
7. Will be able to execute practical activity of accounting in professional fields, also, to freely choose technological, organisational and methodological tools, and to plan, organise and control work of the accounting department.
8. Will apply accounting legislation, international financial reporting and national accounting standards and other regulatory documents properly, will be able to follow the accountants' professional code of ethics for the application of the principles of ethics.
9. Will be able to use information technologies, special computer accounting programmes and to process accounting information.
10. Will understand the accounting policy-making principles and objectives, will be able to correctly select the accounting methods, adapt the appropriate accounting policies for a particular organisation, implement and control its legitimacy, and demonstrate the ability to maintain internal control system.
11. Will be able to manage accounting of organisations and individuals for the preparation and registration of transactions, according to documents with legal power and control over their legitimacy.
12. Will be able to prepare financial statements, statistical reporting, file a tax return.
13. Will be able to summarise, analyse and systematise the organisation's financial statements, to evaluate the financial condition and results of operations, to prepare budget for the organisation, a business plan or project, based on resource efficiency and assess risks, to submit proposals to management, financing, investment and other issues.
14. Will be able to effectively and with tolerance communicate with professionals, etc., to deal with professional challenges and conflicts, to impart knowledge and understanding in accordance with professional ethics and citizenship.
15. Will be able to express themselves responsibly, critically, and consistently, to raise problems and solve them, to know and apply the principles of social responsibility.
16. Will be able to self-train in the occupational area through lifelong learning and to understand the moral responsibility for their performance outcomes.
17. Will be able to carry out a wide range of project activities based on creativity, self-expression, and innovation in the changing international environment.
Activities of teaching and learning:
Lectures, seminars, discussions, debates, individual and group practical exercises, self-written papers, video views, open to the public the results of presentations, workshops plants, design and research works, case (problem situations) analysis, preparation of articles, integrated tasks.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
The System of Accumulative Assessment is used. Methods of assessment: control works, exams, term papers abstracts, oral presentations, project work presentation, practice reports, individual oral interviews, preparation and delivery of presentation, reports, preparation of written reviews on legal matters; report on a case study and its presentation, report on a case study and its presentation, presentation of individual or group assignments, final theses.

General Study Subjects - 15 credits:
Professional English Language, Basics of Applied Research, Information Technologies.
Study Subjects of Study Field - 156 credits;
1. Study Subjects of Study Field (96 credits):
Professional Communication, Basics of Law, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Basics of Accounting, Applied Mathematics, Basics of Finance, Economic Statistics, Financial Accounting 1, Management, Economics of Enterprises, Taxes, Analysis of Enterprise Performance; Financial Analysis, Course Paper; Audit, Accounting Software, Business Law; Financial Accounting 2, Course Paper; Management of Enterprise Finances, Management Accounting.
2. Optional Study Subjects (21 credits): comprise fives groups of subjects from which students must choose one subject:
2.1. Financial Markets and Institutions / Public Procurement;
2.2. Accounting in Public Sector / Marketing;
2.3. Business ethics/ Document Management;
2.4. Financial calculations / International Finance;
2.5. International Accounting Standards / Insurance.
3. Practical Training (30 credits): Introductory Internship of Accounting, Internship of Business Organisation and Accounting, Final Professional Internship.
4. Final Thesis (9 credits).

Students can choose:
• one subject from five groups of alternative subjects of study field (optional study subjects);
• free elective study subjects (9 credits): Personal Finance; International Economics; Project Development or from the list of free elective study subjects, proposed by Kauno kolegija.
Distinctive features of a study programme:
The programme is focused on socially responsible and ethical business; studies are grounded by problem solving and team project work. Students can study and practice abroad using the various funds, bilateral agreements; Also students can participate in international training intensive programs (IP).
Access to professional activity or further study:
Access to professional activity:
Graduates can work as an accountant in firms, institutions and organisations accounting services, establish accounting services company and provide accounting services in other areas. Non-formal or informal ways of acquiring skills to work as an accountant recognized.
Access to further study:
The graduates are entitled to a credit transfer system for entering level one university study programmes, they can choose Master programmes. The continuation of studies is possible in the study programmes in the field of accounting, finance, management, business, economics Lithuanian and/or foreign universities.
