Research skills:
1. Students are able to use information technologies and resources, search for professional information, perform applied research, analyze and apply its results when solving scientific-practical problems.
Special abilities:
1. Students are able to inform patients about the preparation for laboratory tests, prepare the workplace, select appropriate equipment and work with laboratory equipment, apply the principles of occupational safety and health.
2. Students are able to perform laboratory tests in accordance with approved test methodologies, protocols and international standards.
3. Students are able to evaluate the results of laboratory tests according to their compliance with the recommended values or reference biological values, to correct non-conformities and to present the results of the work performed in accordance with the established procedure.
4. Students are able to apply the principles of quality control, ensure the reliability of tests, to analyze the influence of various factors on the results of laboratory tests.
Social skills:

Activities of teaching and learning:
Innovative teaching and learning methods are used: traditional and interactive lectures, lectures by visiting lecturers (practitioners), study tours and working visits, seminars, laboratory works, information retrieval and summarization tasks, case studies, problem analyses, work with simulation models, individual and group projects, discussions. The student's independent work is based on tasks and teamwork, in which critical thinking is very important. The programme aims at the active participation of students in the study process and to find ways to solve problems.
Methods of assessment of learning achievements:
Student’s knowledge and skills are assessed by the cumulative, proportional ten-point assessment system. Learning achievements of the subjects in the study programme are evaluated through mid-term assignments (tests, individual and group assignments and their presentation, projects, defense of practical and self-study works, etc.)
The final evaluation (grade) combines the grades of mid-term assignments, self-study projects and examination.
